3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

16V246000 · Tires:Sidewall

Reported: 2016-04-26 (April 26, 2016)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks manufactured April 5, 2016, to April 11, 2016. The tires installed during assembly of the affected vehicles may have sustained damage to the inner sidewall, possibly resulting in a loss of air or a tire rupture.

Consequence: A rapid loss of air or a tire rupture while the vehicle is being driven may cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires for damage and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 23, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S17.

NHTSA campaign record ↗
22V337000 · Air Bags:Frontal:Driver Clockspring/Spiral Cassette

Reported: 2022-05-13 (May 13, 2022)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles. Dust may accumulate in the steering wheel clock spring, causing a disconnection in the electrical connection resulting in the driver's air bag not deploying as intended.

Consequence: A disconnected driver's air bag can result in it not deploying, as intended, during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the steering wheel clock spring, free of charge. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 3rd Quarter of 2023. An interim notification letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on July 6, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S35.

NHTSA campaign record ↗
25V572000 · Back Over Prevention: Sensing System: Camera

Reported: 2025-09-03 (September 3, 2025)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Consequence: A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. The 10-Speed Automatic Transmission shifts hard and randomly. Leaving a stop sign, at any rate of speed, causes slippage in the shifting. Sometimes it'll shift too slowly, resulting in a jerky motion of the vehicle. Sometimes when on the highway, usually traveling at 68mph (cruise control), the vehicle will randomly jump gears when it's not necessary. Recently while getting up to speed we heard a large grinding noise shifting into 4th gear. The vehicle, otherwise, runs great. The transmission leaves alot to be desired and I do not have any con…

The following systems also displayed failure warnings: ABS Traction Control Parking Brake ( Parking brake also showed as activated when it was not active- it would audibly disengage but the parking brake light stayed lit) Stability Control 4wd. Diagnostic Trouble Code P21B0 Reductant level sensor C circuit high I know several people that have had this same issue concerning the DEF tank assembly costing close to $1000. A recall was issued for earlier models but doesnt cover my truck that now has this same issue. It's this type of failure that makes owners of diesel vehicles contemplate deleting these pollution reducing systems. Please consider an expanded recall.

I recently received a warning for P20BA informing me that the truck had a failed DEF heater. The unit was not in warranty and parts estimate for this is $360.00-$400.00 with an additional $400.00 dollars in labor for a total cost at minimum of $800.00 to $1,000.00 to replace a part that Ford Motor Company knew was a high failure rate part that would not meet industry standards.

WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK STARTED LEAKING DIESEL EVERYWHERE. WE TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THAT WHEN THE FILTER CLOGS THE TRUCK DOESN'T TURN OFF IT SPRAYS FUEL OUT OF THE TOP OF THE FILTER HOUSING. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK AND SITTING IN THE TRUCK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WITH IT RUNNING NOT REALIZING IT WAS LEAKING . IT COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE.

Death wobble occurred this morning for the first time ever. It was terrifying for me and my children. I had to slam on the brakes so hard that I nearly slid off the road! The fact that Ford doesn’t acknowledge this is ridiculous. I hope and pray that this does not occur with my children in the vehicle, or while I’m hauling my horses.

Truck was driving 70 mph going to TN when it started shaking and grinding or awful noise. Lost control of steering d/t shaking. Slowed down and pulled over to side of road to check vehicle equipment. Made call to my son who said it's the death wobble, advised to slow below 60 mph. No death wobble again unless I hit a bump then it started again.
