Windshield cracks easily. It cracked in a way that might impair vision. I have had large rocks hit my windshields in the past and and it usually ends up as just a round spot. I just bought this truck and a small Rock hit the lower driver side and it immediately cracked across my field of view about a foot across. This windshield is too thin or not properly laminated.

I was in stop and go traffic on the highway when my brakes failed. I tried them twice, the car did not slow down, I put the car into park and tried to engage the parking brake and the car continued to roll until I hit the 18 wheeler in front of me. This happened a second time before I could get myself off the freeway and to a safe place to call a tow truck.

Brand new 2026 Ford Maverick with only 6,000 miles on it. Rear ended by another driver going 15mph and it caused $26,000 is damages to the Maverick which totaled it. This is a well known common issue in online forms that the uni body design this vehicle has is an issue. Vehicle should not be totaled from a 15mph rear impact. With the initial instance (it has happened 3 separate times), I was traveling on the interstate on the way back from Tennessee to Georgia and stepped on the accelerator (basically punched it) to get around a big rig, all of a sudden I get a "tow truck" icon on my dash and the accelerator is unresponsive, so I think I was in electric mode only if that. Fortunately, I was close to an exit and was able to coast to a stop in a parking lot. I put it in park, whereby the shifter dial then locked into park, could not change it. My wife read a blog on …

The truck shudders when turning off the ICE and switching to electric. It has progressively gotten worse since around 5000 miles. Group research on online forums suggests this is the damper on the flywheel. Because it's progressively getting worse, even at 8000 miles, I am concerned it will leave me stranded when the whole transmission blows apart. It makes an awful noise that sounds like grinding when the shuddering occurs. It does not happen every time the engine turns off, but the entire transition between electric and ICE is extremely rough…

The vehicle has grade assist braking, which cannot be disabled. At speeds below 35mph this braking is too strong and cannot be properly controlled with throttle input. The effect is that, when going downhill, if you release pressure from the gas pedal, the vehicle will abruptly decelerate by several mph with no illumination of the brake light. In traffic, in hilly areas, this is extremely dangerous and has led to several instances of nearly being rear ended. Furthermore, the only way to avoid slowing down is to accelerate. When using remote start (cold mornings here) the truck will run for 15 minutes. Both inside and outside the vehicle I smell what seems like plastic burning. The brakes sporatically cause you to jerk to a stop when you are all almost completely stop (under 5MPH). This is a dangerous issue when in heavy commuter traffic as the following vehicle may not be prepared for what is a complete emergency stop while other traffic continues to flow at slow speeds. Ford has released numerous TSBs to fix this issue but none of them have truly fixed the problem.

The speedometer is incorrect at highway speeds. Vehicle is brand new with factory installed Continental 225/65R17 tires. The speed indicated on the speedometer is slower than the actual speed.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
