At highway speeds (55-70), light brake pressure resulted in major frontend vibration and front left caliper seized. After pulling off the road, the front left wheel rim was too hot to touch. Problem was not resolved, and same symptoms recurred after less than 100 miles. Mechanic determined that Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module had failed. No warning li…

I am submitting this complaint to report an unresolved safety recall and the inability to obtain a timely inspection or repair, which I believe places me and my family at increased risk of a crash. My vehicle is a 2015 Ford Transit Connect. The vehicle is subject to Ford Safety Recall 25S89 and NHTSA Recall 25V572, concerning a failure of the rearview camera system. The rearview camera on my vehicle frequently displays a message stating “Rear View Camera Unavailable, Contact Ford Dealership” and then goes to a black screen. This results in a co…

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit Connect. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part for the repair was unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the remedy to be available. The screen would display a blank screen. The back over prevention camera would also suddenly activate even while in forward drive. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the back-over prevention camera twice; however, the failures persisted…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 81,000 MILES, AND A WEIRD NOISE STARTED HAPPENING COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I GOT INTO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT (DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR) AT ABOUT 81,500 MILES. THEY DIAGNOSED A BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER - IT WAS BREAKING UP. SEVERAL ISSUES AROSE FROM THAT: FIRST, I HAVE BEEN SMELLING CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE CAB FOR QUITE A WHILE AND DID NOT KNOW WHY (NOW I THINK I KNOW - CLOGGED CATALYTIC, REVERSION THROUGH THE ENGINE BAY). SECOND THE CATALYTIC WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 80,000 MILES. (THE LIGHT WEN…

PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AT SON'S SCHOOL, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. WAITED FOR MY SON. THEN CAR WOULD NOT START. DISPLAY WAS SAYING I WAS IN REVERSE. BUT, THE SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. I WAS ABLE TO ACCESS THE INTERLOCK OVERRIDE UNDER THE SHIFTER, AND MOVE THE SHIFTER INTO ALL GEARS, BUT CAR CONTINUED TO DISPLAY REVERSE POSITION AND ENGINE WOULD NOT START. TOW COMPANY CAME AND LIFTED THE HOOD AND NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THE SHIFT CABLE WAS COMPLETELY DETACHED. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOUR STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY FAILS TO CONTROL YOUR CAR WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING? WITH THE STEERING WHEEL CRANKED AS FAR AS IT WOULD GO, MY CAR CONTINUED GOING STRAIGHT AS I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT. I STOPPED THE CAR COMPLETELY, BLOCKING TRAFFIC.
