Owner report 11517383 · 2023-04-17 (April 17, 2023)

We drove ten miles to a local restaurant and after our meal the vehicle reported a 12-volt battery issue. After about a mile the car started to pull the car over as the battery was falling. As we were looking for a safe location to pull over, the car would no longer accelerate and would maintain 20 mph on a road that was 50 mph speed limit causing a very unsafe condition. We eventually found a safe location to pull over the car and had the car towed.

Owner report 11523419 · 2023-05-23 (May 23, 2023)

I recently leased a Genesis GV60. I was not told that there was no spare tire. I have since called Genesis multiple times asking if there is an approved spare tire that I can purchase to have with my vehicle. The first call was on May 15. My 3rd call was today on May 23. Each time I have simply been told that Genesis is researching the matter with no answer to a basic safety question. It is amazing that Genesis can sell a car in this country without providing information about a spare tire.

On my way to work while sitting in stopped traffic on I-95 i heard a loud pop and saw that my rear windshield glass had shattered and was being held together by the tint. I was 1.5 miles from the car dealer and pulled into their service center. Upon review of the glass the service center techs and collision center techs could not locate a point of impact that would cause the glass to combust the way it did and continue to crack while at the dealer.

Sometimes after starting the car the instrument panels remain black and will not display properly for several minutes or unless the car is shutdown for a long period of time and restarted. Additionally, Genesis uses a fingerprint scan to verify who is driving the vehicle. After verifying my fingerprint the vehicle now asks me for a password even though I already verified my biometrics.

When starting the car on cold mornings--parked outside, under a carport--the instrument cluster is blank. It stays blank for two to seven or so minutes, whether or not the car is being driven. This only happens on the cold days, and didn't happen last winter. When the display comes on, it doesn't register the miles that were driven while it was blank. Using the pre-warm climate function before staring the vehicle--so, warming up the car--will cause the instrument cluster to work even on cold days, but that shouldn't need a workaround.

My Car Has a charging port that overheats. It consistently overheats whenever I charge it at the full speed that the vehicle is rated for, 11.5kw (48amp 240V) and their solution, was to slow my charge rate down, once the port overheats, NOT FIX THE ISSUE, it still overheats.

At random occurrences during car startup, the instrument cluster remains blank and can take up to several minutes to “wake up”. Since no cluster-related information such as speedometer or safety and diagnostic lights is available at this time, the car remains un-drivable until it eventually resolves. Should it occur while the car is being driven, it can pose a significant safety risk as none of the vehicle’s warning lights on the cluster are available. This problem first began to occur after the latest OTA software updated, though it’s not …

This complaint is in regards to Safety Recall 272 Component Failure and Vehicle Disabling / SOS System Failure On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, I was driving my Genesis vehicle during rush hour when I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately following the sound, the dashboard displayed a critical warning light stating: "Electrical Charging System Fault , Check Electrical System." Because I was actively driving in heavy rush-hour traffic, this sudden loss of charging system functionality posed an immediate safety hazard. I pressed the in-vehi…

Stopped car in a parking spot for a few minutes. Reversed and proceeded to put the car into drive. Immediately upon switching to Drive, the vehicle produced a loud pop from the rear and announced the check electrical system error. However the ICCU and High Voltage Fuse is needing to be replaced with no ETA on the replacement part(s) as of this reports submission. Dealership advised NOT to drive the vehicle and arr…

I leased a 2023 Genesis GV60, which was misrepresented as new but had multiple safety recalls, including ICCU battery failure, AWD/powertrain malfunction, and seatbelt defects. From the start, the seatbelts didn’t secure properly, and the car failed NY state inspection, causing me to lose a job that required a safe vehicle. Despite six visits to different service centers in 3 months, no actual repairs were completed. Mechanics admitted they didn’t understand the battery defect. The recalls later disappeared from the system without resolution. …

I leased a Genesis GV60 in July 2023. The car was under a stop sale order and had to be repaired before it was leased to me because of a known issue with the rear axle.
