Recall history
5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
07V259000 · Steering:Hydraulic Power Assist:Hose, Piping, And Connections
Reported: 2007-06-07 (June 7, 2007)
ON CERTAIN TRANSIT BUSES, THE HYDRAULIC HOSE LOCATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY WHICH COULD CAUSE A HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAK.
Consequence: HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKAGE COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF FLUID WHICH COULD AFFECT VEHICLE STEERING OR CREATE THE CONDITIONS FOR A POTENTIAL ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.
Remedy: GILLIG WILL PROVIDE CORRECT HOSES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR REPLACEMENT OR WILL REPLACE THE HOSES FOR THEM. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 27, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT GILLIG AT 1-510-785-1500.

ON CERTAIN TRANSIT BUSES BUILT WITH CUMMINS ISM C876 ENGINES, THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE FAILS TO RECOGNIZE INPUTS OF THE VEHICLE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT OR FROM A DRIVER ACTUATED DASH SWITCH THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF UNINTENDED (OR UNEXPECTED) ELEVATED EXHAUST TEMPERATURES.
Consequence: WHILE THIS CONDITION DOES NOT INVOLVE A RISK OF FIRE IN THE VEHICLE ITSELF, IT COULD PRESENT A FIRE HAZARD IN A SITUATION WHERE THE VEHICLE'S EXHAUST IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO MATERIALS OR SUBSTANCES THAT CAN MELT, BURN, OR EXPLODE.
Remedy: CUMMINS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH GILLIG, WILL CONDUCT THE REMEDY CAMPAIGN. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 31, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT CUMMINS AT 1-800-343-7357 OR GILLIG AT 1-510-785-1500.

Consequence: FAILURE OF THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM DUE TO MOISTURE COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy: GILLIG, IN CONJUNCTION WITH GRAHAM-WHITE, WILL REPLACE THE AIR DRYER TIMER MODULE ON THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 29, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT GILLIG AT 1-510-785-1500 OR GRAHAM-WHITE AT 540-387-5620.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2008: 0 complaints · 2009: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |

| 2008 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2009 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2008 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2009 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
