AN INSPECTION SHOWED THAT AT 48,000 MILES THE REAR INSIDE BRAKE PADS WERE COMPLETELY GONE AND BOTH ROTORS WERE LIKE CORNFLAKES. GM RECALL NO. 05068 IS LIMITED TO CERTAIN STATES. MY VEHICLE IS ONE OF THOSE LISTED IN THE VIN RANGE, BUT I NOW LIVE IN WISCONSIN, I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE TRUCK HAS THE PROBLEM AND UP UNTIL JULY OF THIS YEAR HAD A MICHIGAN TITLE. BY ALLOWING GM TO LIMIT THE RECALL TO CERTAIN STATES PEOPLE LIKE ME FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS AND MIGHT BE HARMED. I AM UNEMPLOYED AND CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THE FIX OUTRIGHT. *JB

VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR ANTI-LOCK BRAKE DEFECT AND REPAIRED AT LOCAL DEALER ON 1/19/06. STARING ABOUT 1/1/09 THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN. ANTI-LOCK WOULD ACTIVATE DURING NORMAL STOP ON DRY PAVEMENT. THIS HAPPENS ON EVERY STOP AND ACTIVATES AROUND 5 MPH. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY FIXED IT ONCE AND ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FIX IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND THEY MADE THE SAME REPAIR THAT WAS MADE WITH THE RECALL. *TR

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
