The headrest in the 2nd and 3rd rows of the 2023 GMC Yukon are not adjustable or removable, reference page 39 of an owners manual. This is a major problem when installing car seats into the vehicle. Because of the design, the headrest tilt forward and do not allow car seats to properly sit against the back of the seats. This causes a gap between the back of the car seats and the seat back of the car. I have 4 kids and 3 different types of car seats. The vehicle was crawling to a stop in preparation to park in front of my garage door. When I move my hand across the steering wheel, my hand must have come in contact with the toggle/scroll for the “resume speed” function of the cruise control. The vehicle abruptly began accelerating towards my house. I was able to press the brake pedal to deactivate and stop the vehicle safely. I note that in the past week, perhaps even two, the cruise control has not been used. The vehicle is driven 2-4 trips a day.

22V903000 · Exterior Lighting:Lighting Control Module:Software

Reported: 2022-12-08 (December 8, 2022)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. This recall expands previous recall number 22V-827.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The rear suspension outer control arm bolts may not have been properly heat-treated, which can cause the bolts to break.

Consequence: A broken suspension bolt can result in misalignment of the rear wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace both rear suspension outer control arm bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 14, 2023. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020; Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006; and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232415910.

Reported: 2024-09-12 (September 12, 2024)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV vehicles. The electronic brake control module software may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Consequence: Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The Electronic Brake Control Module (eBCM) software will be updated through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. Owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N242447990.

The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.

Consequence: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Hello, I’m calling about the GM transmission recall recently announced in March 2025 affecting 2020 Yukon vehicles. My Yukon experienced what I believe is the exact same issue described in the recall. Our vehicle lost forward gears and almost caused a crash. A certified mechanic confirmed the transmission fluid was burnt and full of clutch material, with internal transmission damage. We are asking for this to be handled under the recall, as the issue directly matches GM’s known safety defect. We need this resolved immediately , the vehicle is…

A/C system draining into drivers side floor area. Water from the A/C system is not draining properly and causing water to collect under the carpet on drivers side, leading to mold, bacteria and potentially harmful to people with respiratory issues. After researching various Internet forums, this seems to be a common issue in 2021 Yukon and Tahoes. The dealership will be investigating the issue tomorrow.

The heads up display starting with the 2022 model removed the colored lane departure warning from the sides of the road graphic that is in line with the road and moved it to a very small display to the left side of the driver's field of view. On prior year models the colored warning provided an early alert well before the seat vibrates as the warning. Taking my vision off the road caused me to come up on a …

TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ARE VERY ROUGH IN SLOW TRAFFIC WITH AS MUCH AS ONE TO TWO SECOND DELAYS IN SHIFTING INTO GEAR WITH A LOUD THUMP. IT IS SO ROUGH THAT IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE MAY HAVE RAN INTO THE YOUR BACK BUMPER. IT IS ALSO BAD ENOUGH THAT IT STARTLES THE DRIVER AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. GM IS SAYING THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS EIGHT SPEED TRANSMISSION. IF MY CAR, THE ONE I'M DRIVING NOW, HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM I WOULD DEFINITELY REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A 2017 DENALI WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT. ONLINE THERE ARE MANY CO…

Transmission shifting gears sporadically between 49-57 mph and 19-24mph. If I’m driving at 53 mph, I take my foot off the gas and slow down to 50 mph, when I start to slowly accelerate again, it jerks and makes a loud noise as if the transmission has trouble shifting. Took it to the dealer 3 times now. First time they said they can’t find anything wrong. Second time they replaced a valve body that supposedly would fix it. It didn’t. Third time they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I don’t feel safe driving around my 3 kids all the time.

On March 10, 2023 I exit Hwy 35 at the City of Cottula Texas, as I took the exit lane and arrived at the stop sign, the vehicle came to a complete stop the engine stop idling and the transmission switch to neutral, this created a safety issue for me and my family because I was unable to restart vehicle and I created traffic congestion at the intersection, I am worried that this can happen again and I might be exposed to other vehicles crashing against my vehicle or even worse if this is to happen in the highway I will not be able to control the…

We are located in Henderson, NV and we were driving on the freeway in a construction zone with no emergency lanes when the vehicle lost all power to the engine going the speed limit. The engine had seized up which is a known problem with the 6.2L GMC motors. We have done all the recalls recommended by the manufacturer. The engine seizing, locking up , put our family in danger . We were luckily enough to be close to an offramp where people in other vehicles barley let us over so we can pull off the road or we would of been stuck in the middle of…

While driving the 370 miles from Fairbanks to Anchorage with our family and dogs, our vehicle shut down completely with no warning. The drive is through a very remote section of Alaska. While passing a slower vehicle, our Yukon completely shut down, to include the all controls including the dash and lights. We were unable to complete the pass, leaving us in direct line with on coming traffic with no ability to speed up to get around the other vehicle. The other vehicle, not knowing we had lost all power, continued driving the same speed and eve…

I bought my 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate on or around August 9 2023, and I bought it brand new. On May 28 2024, around 30k miles, I was on the highway and could no longer accelerate. I luckily got myself into the breakdown lane before my car shut down & lost power, ended up being towed to the closest dealership. After 18 days at the dealership, I finally had my car back with a "new engine". Fast forward to November 25, 2025, I was on the highway again, my dash lit up telling me to "press start". As i figured that was not a good idea while drivin…

While driving in approximately 10°F weather after the vehicle had been parked outside overnight during snowfall in Chicago, the vehicle displayed a warning that said “Do Not Drive , Maximum Speed 43 MPH.” At the same time, the brake pedal became extremely hard and the vehicle had significantly reduced braking ability, requiring much longer stopping distance. This occurred without any brake warning lights beforehand. After the vehicle warmed up and was restarted, the message eventually cleared but then there was a new transmission warning and t…

After driving on an Interstate Highway for approximately 2 hours I exited and brought the vehicle to a complete stop at a stop sign while preparing to turn right onto a busy 2-lane road. I applied moderate gas pedal pressure and the vehicle momentarily accelerated and moved forward but then the engine stalled as the transmission was attempting to shift automatically from 1st to 2nd gear. The vehicle was partially stuck out into the busy road without any power. This created a traffic conflict and near-miss with cars traveling along the 2-lane…

While passing on a two-lane road at approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled and acted as if the engine wasn't running. Pulled over to the side of the road and was able to restart the engine after shifting to park. Engine was harder to start than usual and cranked slowly. After restarting, the engine ran fine for the remainder of the trip, but would occasionally have difficulty cranking. After this incident, the engine developed a knock that would vary with engine RPM, and sounded like a defective connecting rod bearing. Pulled the dipstic…

January 16, 2025: Driving down the interstate near Atlanta Ga going 75 MPH, our 2023 Yukon Denali with 28,585 miles on it, abruptly started gearing down. My vehicle was being driven by my Nanny and had my children in the car, the engine started making a strange noise so she was required to pull over on a busy highway bridge in Tulsa, OK. There was no warning of any issues with the vehicle before this incident. It then would not start and had to be towed to a GMC Dealership in Broken Arrow, OK. They informed me the entire engine is locked up and has to be rebuilt.

I took my SUV (Yukon SLT 2023) to the GMC Dealership 4/5 months ago because of 2 recalls, Failed Brake Fluid Leak Detection and Serial Data Gateway Model.
