when just starting out using foot brake and handbrake , handbrake came in towards grip real far and throttle cut out but not off for a few seconds. Then abs and traction control lights came on along with mode selector lights until bike was shut down and restarted. Upon restarting all would be ok for a few miles or even the whole day or would just do it all over again. It did this from june until now where it is presently at the honda dealer while honda tries to figure it out. So far they have not.

At approximately 800 miles, the throttle became sticky. The return spring will close the throttle; however, there is excessive friction that developed while riding. Temperatures were approximately 85-95 degrees. The problem is that fine feathering of the throttle is not possible. By the time enough hand control pressure is released to ease off the throttle, the throttle closes aggressively and by the time I can stop the throttle closure, the engine and dual clutch transmission are downshifting--in Sport mode the downshifts are aggressive and …

I was pulling into a parking spot to turn the bike around and back into the spot. While sitting sideways in a parking spot, I increased the throttle slightly to pull forward. The throttle acted as if it was stuck and the bike lurched forward after I released the throttle. I applied the front brake but the bike continued moving forward pushing the front tire which left a skid mark on the pavement. I continued forward until the bike ran into the driver's door of a parked car. This was the second time the throttle stuck in this manner. The first t…

Found that the front brake rotors were on the wrong side. Honda specifies different part numbers for each rotor. Went to dealer to resolve this issue and express my concern about it being a safety issue. The dealer contacted Honda, and they agreed to pay to have the rotors installed the right way and replace the brake pads. But not replace the rotors. My concern is after 14000 miles they are now the rotors are rotating in the opposite. And that this may have compromised structural integrate of the rotors themselves

This vehicle has a chronic issue with an unreliable parking brake. The brake is required to be engaged each time the motorcycle is parked since the motorcycle automatically puts it into neutral when the back is turned off. Many Honda Goldwings are known to have what owners call a stumble in engine performance which happens as the engine temperature is warming up. This does not happen when the engine is still cold, or once the engine reaches normal operating temperature. This stumble becomes a safety problem when operating the vehicle at slow engine speed and making a turn. On a motorcycle the operator depends on engine response to help control the vehicle. If the engine stumbles while making a turn it increases the chance of the operator losing their balance and …

With less than 10k miles I have excessive tire cupping. Upon a deep dive inspection of the motorcycle I found the bolts to the upper control arm coming loose/ backing out. Excessive amount of threads showing on all 4 corners of the control arm. I Contact the dealer, who informed me that this is normal. WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH ON I-95 NORTHBOUND JUST NORTH OF EXIT 121 IN 5TH GEAR, I EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPECTED AND ALARMING ENGINE RPM CHANGE, CAUSING ME TO DIVERT MY ATTENTION FROM THE ROADWAY AHEAD TO MY INSTRUMENT PANEL IN AN EFFORT TO DETERMINE WHAT HAD OCCURRED. FORTUNATELY, I HAVE AN AFTERMARKET GEAR INDICATOR THAT SHOWED THE MOTORCYCLE TO NOW BE IN 4TH GEAR. REGAINING MY COMPOSURE, I SHIFTED BACK INTO 5TH GEAR AND RESUMED LOOKING UP TO THE ROADWAY TO CONTINUE MY TRIP. *TR

MOTORCYCLE HAS A HESITATION WHEN APPLYING THROTTLE. THIS HAPPENS FROM A COLD START AS WELL AS DURING ENGINE WARM-UP AND OCCASIONALLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. THIS ENGINE HESITATION CAN RESULT IN AN ENGINE STALL WHICH CAN RESULT IN A CRASH IF THE MOTORCYCLE IS IN A LOW SPEED TURN. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS ON MOST 2012 AND 2013 HONDA GOLDWING MOTORCYCLES. I CONSIDER THIS HESITATION TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. THE PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED IN VARIOUS GOLDWING ONLINE SITES. *TR

I have a 2023 Honda Goldwing/DCT which is a 7 speed motorcycle. On the highway traveling around 70 miles per hour in heavy traffic the bike just dies and it will just coast to a stop. You can not restart the bike because it is locked in 7th gear. Twice I had to have the biked towed to a Honda dealer. I called Honda and they said they have not heard of this problem. If they go on You tube they can see where other riders are having the same problem. I left my bike in at Honda dealer 2 weeks ago and they are waiting for some guidance from Honda.…

2024 Honda Gold Wing GL1800DR Tour fails to detect the keyfob intermittently. The vehicle does not require a standard key to start, unlock or closing/opening the paniers, except for emergency situation and requires at that time a sequence to be followed. For this, it requires that you have the fob in your person while operating the motorcycle. The concerns around the fob/remote is that it looses communication with the vehicle intermittently, inhibiting access, say, to ignition start button or properly closing paniers/top case. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

when just starting out using foot brake and handbrake , handbrake came in towards grip real far and throttle cut out but not off for a few seconds. Then abs and traction control lights came on along with mode selector lights until bike was shut down and restarted. Upon restarting all would be ok for a few miles or even the whole day or would just do it all over again. It did this from june until now where it is presently at the honda dealer while honda tries to figure it out. So far they have not.
