Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

14V683000 · Fuel System, Gasoline

Reported: 2014-11-28 (November 28, 2014)

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Nissan Juke, 2012-2013 Infiniti M56, QX56, and 2014-2015 Infiniti Q70 (V8 engine vehicles only), and QX80 vehicles. The fuel pressure sensors may not have been sufficiently tightened during production. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen with vehicle usage and cause a fuel leak.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could cause a vehicle fire.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will re-torque the fuel pressure sensors free of charge. The recall began on January 25, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

A sensor, or trio of sensors, in the passenger side airbag system failed. Nissan/Infiniti says they cant be sure which of the three sensors is causing the problem and needs to replace all three. One of the sensors is integrated into the passenger seat itself and therefore the entire seat must be replaced. This all adds up to a very expensive repair cost of over $10,000 for sensors that are not accessible by the user, and therefore failed because of a manufacturer's defect, and not because of wear and tear, or anything caused by the user. Brake fluid began leaking onto the ABS actuator circuit board and created an electrical fire. This melted the engine harness and the connector to the abs module. This was confirmed by dealership technicians at Sewell Infiniti - Dallas. Dealership informed me they could not fix the vehicle because the part needed to replace (affected by a different recall), was discontinued and made me tow the vehicle to my house. The issue was confirmed by mechanics at Parkwood collision - Frisco. InfinitiUSA customer service acknowledged the issue and that t…

I was driving down the highway and the revs went up really high with some banging and clanging, the check engine light came on and the gears stopped shifting. The dealer told me the transmission valve body failed and it seems to be a common issue in these cars. Not safe to drive as the gears wont shift and this seems to be a sensor in the transmission that is doomed to fail after a matter of time. Infiniti reengineered this part because they know it is going to fail but have not issued a recall.

THE INTERIOR COURTESY LIGHTS UNDER THE DASH REMAIN ON WHEN CAR IS RUNNING. DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING TO ATTENTIVE SAFE DRIVING. ACCORDING TO INFINITI, THIS WAS ENGINEERIED TO REMAIN ON AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THE LIGHT OFF. THE CHANGE TO THE LIGHTING WAS DONE ON MODELS BEGINING WITH 2014. IN EARLIER MODELS ALL THE AMBIENT LIGHTS GO OUT WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED.

The issue I have experienced involved my car stalling due to an inaccurate fuel gauge reading: basically, ran out of gas on a road while fuel gage was still showing half tank full. Luckily, was able to avoid any accident. The error code came up: P0462, which stands for “Fuel Level Sensor ‘A’ Circuit Low,” and indicates a problem with the fuel level sensor circuit. I was going to replace the fuel gauge/pump, but was told by a Nissan technical adviser at the dealership, the root cause is likely a faulty instrument cluster module, which is respons…

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
