Owner report 10175926 · 2006-12-12 (December 12, 2006)
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN RECALL LETTER # 06V378000 FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS RECEIVED; AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH A SERVICE DEALER. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE VEHICLE HAD STILL NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO UNAVAILABLE PARTS. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH SINCE THE PARTS WERE REQUESTED BY THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE DELAY. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED CONTACTING OTHER SERVICE DEALERS, BUT THEY WERE OVER AN HOUR AWAY. UPDATED 1/29/2007 - *NM

Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
05V523000 · Structure
Reported: 2005-11-16 (November 16, 2005)
ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE CAB ENTRY STEPS WERE MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY CAUSING THEM TO HAVE LOWER MATERIAL STRENGTH PROPERTIES THAN DESIGNED. THESE LOWER MATERIAL STRENGTH PROPERTIES CAN ALLOW THE STEP TREAD TO FRACTURE AND SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL USAGE.
Consequence: STEP TREAD SEPARATION WHILE A PERSON IS ENTERING OR EXITING THE CAB, MAY RESULT IN PROPERLY DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL REINFORCED METAL BRACKETS ON BOTH CAB ENTRY STEP PLATFORMS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 2, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.
NHTSA campaign record ↗06V378000 · Electrical System
Reported: 2006-10-03 (October 3, 2006)
ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH VT-275 ENGINES, THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR OF THE INJECTION PRESSURE REGULATOR (IPR) VALVE ON THE ENGINE CAN FILL WITH RAIN WATER AND ROAD DEBRIS, POSSIBLY CAUSING TERMINAL CORROSION THAT MAY LEAD TO ELECTRICAL VOLTAGE DROPS.
Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OF THE IPR VALVE CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. IF AN ENGINE SHUTDOWN OCCURS, THE VEHICLE MAY BECOME STRANDED ON A ROADWAY. THIS MAY LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR CORROSION AND IF A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT IS PRESENT, THE CONNECTOR WILL BE REMOVED AND A NEW, SEALED CONNECTOR INSTALLED. IF NO CORROSION IS PRESENT, THE CONNECTOR WILL BE CLEANED, FILLED WITH DIELECTRIC GREASE AND COVERED WITH A PROTECTIVE WRAP THAT WILL PREVENT FUTURE CORROSION OF THE CONNECTOR TERMINALS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 9, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.
NHTSA campaign record ↗06V489000 · Structure:Body
Reported: 2006-12-21 (December 21, 2006)
ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE A-PILLAR MOUNTED ENTRY/EGRESS GRAB HANDLE MAY LOOSEN AND POSSIBLY SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE.
Consequence: THIS SEPARATION CAN OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING AND POSSIBLY CONTRIBUTE TO PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CAB ENTRY/EGRESS GRAB HANDLE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 16, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2006: 1 complaints · 2007: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |

| 2006 | 1 | 1 | 1 |

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2006 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2007 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
