Recall history
3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
81V139000 · Wheels
Reported: 1981-11-16 (November 16, 1981)
DUE TO AN INTERFERENCE PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT AXLE BRAKE DRUM MOUNTING BOLTS, THE SPARE WHEEL MAY NOT SEAT SECURELY AGAINST THE HUB WHEN PLACED ON THE FRONT AXLE.
Remedy: DEALER WILL REPLACE THE SPARE RIM WITH A RIM OF THE CORRECT DESIGN. THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE CORRECTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
NHTSA campaign record ↗82V066000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Power Assist
Reported: 1982-06-28 (June 28, 1982)
THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER MAY NOT BE PROPERLY SECURED DUE TO THE OMISSION OF A NECESSARY SUPPORTING BRACKET IN THE PROCESS OF POWER STEERING INSTALLATION. THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINE COULD BE SUBJECT TO FAILURE DUE TO RESULTING FATIGUE.
Remedy: DEALER WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINE AND INSTALL PROPER BRACKET AND CLAMPS ON THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.
NHTSA campaign record ↗83V008000 · Seat Belts:Front:Webbing
Reported: 1983-01-01 (January 1, 1983)
SOME VEHICLES HAVE LAP BELTS ONLY, RATHER THAN LAP AND SHOULDER BELTS. ALSO, THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. SEAT BELTS MAY NOT BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION", WHICH REQUIRES THAT A LAP AND SHOULDER TYPE SEAT BELT BE INSTALLED, AS WELL AS A WARNING LIGHT.
Remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND INSTALL THE REQUIRED SHOULDER AND LAP TYPE SEAT BELT AT NO CHARGE TO OWNER.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
1981: 0 complaints · 1982: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1981 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 1982 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1981 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 1982 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
