Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

23V369000 · Electrical System:Propulsion System:Traction Battery

Reported: 2023-05-25 (May 25, 2023)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Jaguar I-PACE vehicles. The high-voltage battery may overheat.

Consequence: The high-voltage battery overheating increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park and charge vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. The battery energy control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update. In addition, battery modules will be replaced as necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2023. Owners may contact Jaguar's customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H441.

23V709000 · Electrical System:Propulsion System:Traction Battery

Reported: 2023-10-19 (October 19, 2023)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2019-2023 I-PACE vehicles previously repaired under recall 23V-369. The previous repair may not have been completed correctly, and still allow the high-voltage battery to overheat.

Consequence: The high-voltage battery overheating increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park and charge their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete, and for 30 days after the repair has been completed. Dealers will update the battery energy control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2023. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H459.

NHTSA campaign record ↗
24V134000 · Exterior Lighting:Turn Signal

Reported: 2024-02-22 (February 22, 2024)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jaguar I-Pace vehicles. In the event that one of the turn signals stops working, the turn signal flash rate frequency will not adjust to warn the driver that a turn signal is not working correctly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Inoperative rear turn signals may not notify other drivers of a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the Car Configuration File (CCF) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2024. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H475.

Was driving vehicle downhill on a small hill in Palm Springs when multiple error messages appeared in rapid succession on the information display, including 'traction battery fault - safe to drive with caution'. This was immediately followed by "pull over and stop the car" but before I had the chance to do so ALL the systems in the car ceased to operate and all electrical systems shut down. The breaks would not work, the steering would not work. I was still traveling down hill and unable to stop the car. The car continued for approximately 1/2 …

At this point, the car would stutter and shake when attempting to accelerate, simultaneously the car would roll back since there was a slight decline in the road. However, no warnings were shown during the occurrence and by the time the driver was able to apply the brakes, the car had already rolled back approximately 2 feet. I noticed a strong mildew smell in car. So I searched around car to see where smell was coming from noticed foggy moisture on windshield along with water drips. So I did some more searching and noticed front and back floor mats were wet. I pulled them up and carpet underneath was also wet. I said ofcourse not because unknown water shouldn’t be in car. Also, Informed them I rese…

The BCCM in a high number of 2019 Jaguar iPace cars are going bad. The BCCM is the main charging component of the vehicle that controls the electrical system and creates a huge hazard and series of malfunctions when it goes bad. It renders the car immobile and you can not charge it. The dealerships and Jaguar North America refuse to recognize this. There is a significant backorder of these parts because of this issue and the dealership mentioned to me that they see this issue ALL THE TIME. Jaguar should be recalling this part for those of u…

Several battery cells have failed and have required replacement on at least 3 occasions in this vehicle. I believe there is a fire risk and that the affected vin range of recall H484 was too narrow. Please consider widening the range of the recall to include the batch used in this vehicle as they are clearly defective as seen by the disproportionately high failure rate.

35mph limit road, moderate traffic, speed of 30-35mph suddenly car shows an error message on screen with regards to electrical fault of traction battery and reduced feel of brakes. On a contrary, brakes became extremely hard and unresponsive (zero braking efficiency) - car moving 30mph, no change in forward motion (minor jitter on the steering wheel), barely managed to change lane to avoid collision. Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
