RE: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe (hybrid) This complaint involves a well-known defect and malfunction endemic to the Jeep Wrangler 4Xe with the identical powertrain and software, and a well-documented recall of the Jeep Wrangler, but for some reason, does not yet extend to the Grand Cherokee 4Xe model for identical symptoms and malfunction behavior. The associated recall for the Wrangler is NHTSA campaign number: 22V865000. FCA US, LLC’s number for this recall ZB7, however the Grand Cherokee with the identical powertrain-- has yet to be recal…

Gas gage is very inaccurate. Miles to empty falls dramatically faster than actual miles driven and then resets itself when car is turned off and back on. I have no confidence in the accuracy of fuel gage.

1) Car shuts off automatically when driving. The only option to start engine again is to shut off the engine and restart. 2) Car hesitate when gas engine is communicating with electric battery. Car acts like it is is neutral for about 5 seconds The both issues listed above creates a serious safety risk as there is no option to accelerate while driving on a highway or city street. It creates a safety risk for my family and drivers that are behind me since other drivers have to come to an abrupt stop. The engine turned off while I was driving …

On January 6, 2025, one week after picking up the new vehicle from the car dealers lot I was driving on the Merritt parkway when suddenly the AEB light came on and then the traction control and engine light. The vehicle quickly lost power and even with my foot pressed fully on the gas pedal, it would not accelerate and slowed to 20 mph within seconds. Fortunately, there was no car behind me, and I was able to coast into a rest stop. If there were a vehicle behind me, it probably would’ve crashed into me when my car quickly decelerated. I turned…

The mechanic is replacing the OCR module, stating the car thought it was in a collision and turned off. Though obviously it wasn’t. Before which, the screen flashes off from time to time. In Hybrid mode, the transition from gas to battery power is clunky. It surges forward unpredictably and takes a bit to respond when the pedal is pressed. This erratic forward surge has happened several times, including once while my child was drinking water – which spilled all over him. The brakes are hard to modulate and are never consistent. When driving in e-save there is an awful engine noise. I typically only try to drive the vehicle in electric mode, but that only lasts to a point. While driving on the freeway, the vehicle turned off. No engine, no electric, no headlights. I had to coast to the side during traffic. The mechanic is replacing the OCR module, stating the car thought it was in a collision and turned off. Though obviously it wasn’t. Before which, the screen flashes off from time to time. The car has had loss of power for a moment in the past but never all the way off. This was extremely dangerous and I’m concerned the OCR will not fix the issue. It is with the dealership now.

I was turning at an intersection when I got rear-ended. I do not recall the car stopping right before I got hit, but there is video that shows the my jeep stopped suddenly during the intersection right before I was rear-ended. It appears the oncoming car turning the opposite way got too close causing my automatic braking system to immediately stop my car while I was driving. There is no other explanation as to why the jeep just suddenly stopped as I know I did not press on the brakes myself.

In Hybrid mode, the transition from gas to battery power is clunky. It surges forward unpredictably and takes a bit to respond when the pedal is pressed.
