Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
14V014000 · Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery
Reported: 2014-01-24 (January 24, 2014)
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2012 through 2014 model year Kenworth K300 and Peterbilt 210 and 220 chassis equipped with Sure Power-brand battery equalizers or DC-DC converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. The specific potting compound used in the subject products for electrical insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.
Consequence: If the potting compound is exposed to heat and conducts electricity, there is an increased risk of a vehicle fire and personal injury.
Remedy: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective component with a new battery equalizer or DC-DC converter, free of charge. The recall began on March 31, 2014. Customers may contact PACCAR at 1-425-468-7400. Kenworth's number for this recall is 14KWD. Peterbilt's number for this recall is 1213J.
NHTSA campaign record ↗14V439000 · Electrical System
Reported: 2014-07-21 (July 21, 2014)
PACCAR Inc. (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Kenworth K300 and Peterbilt 210, 220, and 320 chassis manufactured March 14, 2012 to July 14, 2014. The affected vehicles may have loose fitting electrical connectors on the power distribution module which may cause the engine to shut off.
Consequence: An unexpected engine shut down increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will install nylon tie straps to hold the connectors in place until the permanent remedy, a connection position device, becomes available. Both remedies will be provided free of charge. The recall began January 29, 2015. For more information, Peterbilt owners may call 1-940-591-4220 and Kenworth owners may call 1-425-828-5000. PACCAR's number for this recall is 14KWH (Kenworth), and 714-G (Peterbilt).

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2015: 0 complaints · 2016: 0 complaints

|---|---|---|---|
| 2015 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2016 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2015 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2016 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
