1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V755000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017)

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-574-535-2100, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Keystone's number for this recall is 17-307.

THE FIRST NIGHT WE BROUGHT OUR NEW CAMPER HOME, WE NOTICED WATER ON THE FLOOR FROM BOTH SLIDES. ON OUR FIRST TRIP WITH SOME RAIN, WE HAD SOAKED CARPETS & A LIFTING KITCHEN FLOOR. THROUGH RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET WE HAVE FOUND THAT A LARGE NUMBER OF ZEPPLIN OWNERS, GOT WATER DAMAGE THE FIRST TIME IT RAINED WITH THEIR SLIDES OPEN. THE DEALER COULDN'T GET US IN TO LOOK AT IT UNTIL NEXT WEEK. I FEEL THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO DUE TO THE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE I HAVE FOUND WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. OUR MODEL IS THE Z301 BUT THR…

2006 ZEPPELIN TRAVEL TRAILER, BY KEYSTONE, HAD MAJOR FRAME DAMAGE. I PURCHASED TRAILER IN INDIANA AND FRAME DAMAGE HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO ALASKA IN 2005. THE EXACT DATE OF THE FRAME DAMAGE IS UNCERTAIN AS IT WAS NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL AFTER WINTER STORAGE. THE DEALER FOUND IT IN MAY OF 2006. DEALER IN ALASKA SAID IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE DAMAGE COULD HAVE BEEN MORE SERIOUS AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. *NM

I OWN A MOUNTIANEER TRAILER, MADE BY KEYSTONE. I HAVE TWO PROBLEMS. THE FIRST PRONLEM IS THAT I HAVE HAD TWO BLOWOUTS ON THE TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE TRAILER. THEY ARE MISSION, LOAD MAX RADIALS, ST225/75R15. THESE TIRES HAVE LESS THEN 4000 MILES ON THEM. THE FIRST BLOWOUT WAS ON THE WAY TO CONNECTICUT FROM FLORIDA. THE STEEL BELTS CAME THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE TIRE. A MOTORIST TOLD ME I HAD A FLAT WHICH I CHANGED. ON MAY 11, 2006 MY WIFE AND I WERE IN KENTUCKY AND WE HAD A SEVERE BLOWOUT OF THE SAME KIND OF TIRE. WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER, HOWEV…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 KEYSTONE ZEPPELIN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING RENOVATED, THE LINOLEUM WAS REMOVED AND THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE SUPPORT BRACKETS LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE SLIDE OUT AND IN THE FLOOR WERE FRACTURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FLOOR BRACKETS WERE INSTALLED EVERY FOUR FEET. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INSPECTED THE RV AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRAILER WAS UNSAFE TO PULL AND WAS UNREPAIRABLE. THE TRAILER WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
