Owner report 11532121 · 2023-07-13 (July 13, 2023)

I had 3 of these same tire blow within a week and a half of each other. All 3 tires were installed new on my camper trailer at factory. The camper was purchased in August 2021. The tires are Castle Rock ST Radial 226 size ST225/75/ R15. It appears the sidewalls failed leading to tread separation and in one case, the tread separation led to several hundreds of dollars of damage to the camper itself. My safety was at risk due to having to pull over and change the blown tires while on the side of the interstate. debris from the tread separation co…

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

21V397000 · Equipment:Appliance:Electric Water Heater

Reported: 2021-05-26 (May 26, 2021)

KZRV, L.P. (KZRV) is recalling certain 2021 Stratus and SportTrek trailers. The water heater circuits were wired with an incorrect size circuit breaker, which may prevent the breaker from tripping, and failing to provide adequate wiring protection.

Consequence: Inadequate wiring protection can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the 20 amp circuit breaker with a 15 amp circuit breaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 13, 2021. Owners may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 ext. 154 or 153. KZRV's number for this recall is KZ-2021-02.

Driver side rear axle on 2020 Venture Sporttrek 343VIK. Tire was at correct pressure and driving 60 mph on level highway when it exploded, ripping the tread. The tire is available for inspection. This caused the trailer to swerve into the left lane momentarily, but was under control quickly. Unknown if the problem has been reproduced, and the tire has not been inspected. No warning before the problem occurred.

We purchased this rv trailer brand new from Happy Daze RV in Sacramento, Ca. The manufacturer is KZ/Venture RV in Indiana. We bought it in Sept of 2016. We have had no issues with it in the 5 or 6 times we have taken it on a trip. I took the rv to have general maintenance done to the wheels and the mechanic found that nothing on the VIN sticker matched the equipment on the trailer. The axles, tires and rims are all undersized for this rv. The axles on it are 3500lb (tandem) the tires are 205 75R15 with 5 lug rims. According to the VIN sticker o…

The black tank dump valve, connecting rod bent. Which makes it impossible to close the black tank valve after dumping the raw sewage. This is a major biohazard and environmental hazard. Because raw sewage can dump on to the surface or near by water. I tried to straighten the rod as best as I possibly could. But I was still unable to close the valve.

While greasing the wheel bearings on my 2016 SportTrek ST282VRL I found cracks on both sides of frame in the location between the spring mounts. The cracks are located on the doubler propagating from the large huck bolt on the forward side of the axle and spring mount. On the right side there was one crack that ran through the huck bolt. On the left side there were two cracks running through the bolt. I stop-drilled each crack and will be getting a hold of the frame manufacturer for a repair plate or welding instructions. These cracks were betw…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
