Owner report 11714580 · 2026-01-30 (January 30, 2026)

DreamDrive Pro 2 is extremely dangerous and should have an immediate STOP order for all Lucids. It fails to identify road hazards and take evasive action. In multiple instances, the car has accelerated towards a stopped object and has abruptly removed autonomous driving while engaged during turns, resulting in the car veering towards obstacles.

Components are the HEAD UP DISPLAY (HUD) and the WINDSHIELD. The HUD mechanism is located on, and in, the dashboard. It projects/displays driving information on to the windshield at eye level of driver. During day time, typically bright, sunny days, the HUD also casts a blue reflection onto the windshield, typically a blue oval that can vary in size depending on direction of travel and location of sun. It also casts a wavering, and fluttering, flag like reflection on top of, to the side of, and much bigger than the blue oval. It also has bright…

The system and camera indicate 25-30 inches clearance at the point that the rear bumper makes contact with fixed objects behind the car! Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

25V855000 · Seats | Air Bags

Reported: 2025-12-10 (December 10, 2025)

Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2026 Gravity vehicles. Incorrect backrest covers may have been installed on the front seats, preventing the side air bags from deploying correctly.

Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Lucid will inspect and replace the seat backrest covers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid Customer Care at 1-888-99-LUCID or 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-25-05-0.

26V018000 · Back Over Prevention:Software

Reported: 2026-01-16 (January 16, 2026)

Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Gravity vehicles operating a software version prior to 3.3.20. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 4, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-02-0.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, “Seating Systems” and 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages.”

Consequence: Seat bracket failure can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

No selected model years have a complete observation window. Choose an eligible year or a shorter window.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.

When you press the button in the middle row to fold the seat forward so that the rear passenger can go to the back, the force of the chair is very strong. It almost knocked me out because my head was there and it flung forward. Also the middle seat on the middle row doesn't latch. You really have to use all your force to have it latch. The dream drive (auto drive) on the lucid is activated by the buttons on the steering wheel. The buttons do not work all the time. Sometimes I have to press it 5 times for it to disengage. It's very dangerous i…

On XXX while driving approximately 170 miles along the [XXX] corridor from [XXX] to [XXX], the vehicle’s Hands-Free driver assistance system (Highway Assist / DreamDrive) suffered three critical, unprovoked disengagements, creating severe near-miss rear-end hazards. Prior to the trip, I had intentionally disabled the automatic lane change feature due to known unreliability, relying only on Hands-Free lane centering and speed control while performing manual lane changes myself. Despite this, the system failed catastrophically three times: Inci…

On February 6, 2026, my wife was operating our 2026 Lucid Gravity when she shifted into reverse. The rearview/backup camera failed to activate on the center display. Simultaneously, the electronic gear selector became unresponsive and would not change gears. The combined failure resulted in a near-collision; no impact or injuries occurred. Both affected systems remain in the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request. The rearview camera is federally required equipment under FMVSS No. 111. Its failure to display when reverse was sele…

The auto wipers either go too fast or don’t turn on early enough just not right . The hands free phone is useless it’s like a bad connection always. Tried Bluetooth only and car play. Music through either works fine.

Vehicle was driving at 50-55 MPH on [XXX] . The vehicle immediately gave multiple warning systems such as "Dream Drive Unavailable" "Regenerative Braking unavailable, use brake pedal" "Hold unavailable" "Dynamic handling unavailable" "Car will Power off in 5 minutes" and the car started applying the breaks and went into a "turtle" mode. It went from 50 miles per hour down to 35 miles per hour in the middle of the road with traffic. I had my three children, my wife, my grandmother, and my aunt in the car with me. We were almost rear ended, but …

Yesterday, while driving home on a surface street, I experienced a sudden loss of drive power, multiple dashboard warning lights, and violent shaking throughout the vehicle, creating a significant safety hazard for both me and surrounding motorists. It is fortunate that this did not occur at highway speeds. The shaking was so intense that the head-up display on the windshield was visibly vibrating, and when I arrived home ( driving the one mile at less than 35 mph as indicated on the dash), I discovered that one of the rear seats had folded it…
