Recall history
5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
14V088000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Exhaust System
Reported: 2014-02-21 (February 21, 2014)
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 LEU vehicles manufactured May 14, 2009, through February 14, 2014, and equipped with a Cummins ISL engine. In the affected vehicles, the exhaust pipe may disconnect from the muffler/catalyst.
Consequence: If the exhaust pipe separates from the muffler on a twin-steer configured vehicle where the vehicle is operated from the right side, the operator may be exposed to carbon monoxide levels which may cause personal injury.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners. The recall began on April 21, 2014. The recall is expected to begin in late April 2014. Owners may contact Mack Trucks at 1-336-393-2000. Mack's number for this recall is SC0376.
NHTSA campaign record ↗14V137000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine
Reported: 2014-03-24 (March 24, 2014)
Mack Trucks Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 CXU, 2010-2015 LEU, and 2011-2015 MRU vehicles manufactured with certain Cummins Westport Model ISL G and ISX12 G engines. Condensation in the intake manifold may freeze during cold weather conditions and interfere with the proper operation of the intake manifold pressure sensor.
Consequence: The improper operation of the sensor could induce elevated exhaust temperatures or flames from the exhaust pipe, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire or burn injury to a person near the exhaust pipe.
Remedy: Cummins and Cummins Westport will notify owners, and authorized Cummins service facilities will upload a new ECM calibration, free of charge. The recall began on March 12, 2014. Customers may contact Mack at 1-336-393-2000 or Cummins Inc. at 1-800-343-7357. Mack's number for this recall is SC0377.
NHTSA campaign record ↗15V025000 · Parking Brake:Driveline:Hydraulic:Actuator
Reported: 2015-01-22 (January 22, 2015)
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain model year 2015 and 2016 CXU and LEU trucks manufactured May 20, 2014, to March 24, 2015, equipped with certain Haldex Life Seal Type 30/30 Long Stroke Air Brake Actuators manufactured from January 9, 2014, through February 3, 2015. The affected actuators may have an incomplete attachment of the internal rubber diaphragm to the actuation mechanism of the parking brake section of the Life Seal actuator.
Consequence: If the diaphragm is not completely attached, there may be internal leakage from the service section past the diaphragm, potentially trapping air pressure in the parking brake section. This air pressure in turn, if not vented, may prevent full release of the actuator unit, and may induce brake drag and may result in overheated wheelend service brakes, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake actuator and replace, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 20, 2015. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-610-709-2131. Mack's number for this recall is SC0387.
NHTSA campaign record ↗15V056000 · Latches/Locks/Linkages:Doors:Latch
Reported: 2015-02-02 (February 2, 2015)
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain model year 2015 Mack LEU trucks manufactured March 31, 2014, to December 12, 2014. In the affected vehicles, a component of the door opening mechanism may be too short and as a result, the door may not be able to be opened by someone inside the truck.
Consequence: If the door cannot be opened from the inside, egress from the vehicle could be hindered which would increase the risk of injury in the event of an emergency.
Remedy: Mack will notify owners, and dealers will replace the inner door latches, free of charge. The recall began March 27, 2015. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Mack's number for this recall is SC0388.
NHTSA campaign record ↗15V275000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine
Reported: 2015-05-11 (May 11, 2015)
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 Mack MRU and LEU trucks manufactured June 25, 2010, to April 30, 2015, and 2015-2016 LR6 trucks manufactured from December 18, 2014 through March 6, 2015. Excessive engine crankcase pressures may cause the 90-degree elbow of the vent tube assembly to detach from the crankcase ventilation breather, possibly allowing engine oil to come into contact with hot surfaces.
Consequence: If engine oil comes into contact with a hot surface, there could be an increased risk of a fire.
Remedy: Cummins will notify owners on behalf of Mack, and Cummins service centers will administer the repairs which include securing the ends of the 90-degree elbow and reprogramming the electronic control module (ECM) with software that can adjust the engine output under misfire conditions to limit crankcase pressures. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on June 12, 2015. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-528-6586 or Cummins Inc. at 1-800-343-7357. Mack's number for this recall is SC0391.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2015: 0 complaints · 2016: 0 complaints

|---|---|---|---|
| 2015 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2016 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
