Reported: 2021-02-18 (February 18, 2021)

Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CX-30 vehicles. When fully opened, the power liftgate may partially lower unexpectedly when the vehicle is parked facing uphill on a slope.

Consequence: If the power liftgate unexpectedly lowers while a person is accessing the rear storage area of the vehicle, it can increase their risk of injury.

Remedy: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will update the power liftgate control module software and inspect the serial number of the power liftgate drive unit, replacing it if necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 8, 2021. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500 option 4. Mazda's number for this recall is 4621B.

I wondered if, after my first service visit on 11-12-25, the dealership put regular leaded gas instead of premium in it, because there was a noticeable difference in gas mileage and the engine started revving pretty high, in my opinion. It also seemed to have less power (which was my main reason foe thinking the wrong gas had been out in). And since then, it hasn't been the same.

Normal speeds, etc. Warning sensor to engage Brakes activate without sufficient reason. More than enough space between cars, normal speeds. Occasionally, it feels as if cruise control has taken over and slows the car down (not braking exactly, but controlling the speed by decreasing it). Purchased Mazda CX-30 Turbo car new March 31, 2021, in Jan 2022 low oil light came on with only 5,000 miles. Dealer noted it was 1 qt low. Just prior to reaching 10,000 miles the low oil light came on again. This car is burning oil with normal driving; primarily from rural area into town 15 min away or freeway driving. This creates an unsafe situation with parts and engine failure.

On multiple occasions, low oil warning lamp illuminates and I have confirmed low oil level. Dealer is unable to confirm and refuses to address Mazda TSB because oil level is no longer low since I topped it up. The failure lies in the valve seal assembly. My safety and that of my passengers is affected because in the event of a low oil incident, my ability to safely drive the speed limit and/or accelerate quickly is compromised. Should a catastrophic failure occur, engine would lose all power. Date of most recent incident marked below.
