Owner report 11761976 · 2026-09-03 (September 3, 2026)

On June 5 2026, my wife drove the vehicle into the garage. While she was exiting the vehicle with the driver's door open, the vehicle unexpectedly continued moving backward. My wife had to move out of the vehicle's path to avoid being struck or potentially crushed. The vehicle continued moving with the driver's door open, and the open door ultimately became lodged against a structural portion of the garage-door opening. Fortunately, my wife escaped physical injury. The vehicle and driver's-door area, however, sustained substantial damage.

Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

24V780000 · Tires:Sidewall

Reported: 2024-10-18 (October 18, 2024)

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2025 GLB 250, GLB 250 4MATIC, and GLB 35 4MATIC vehicles. The right-side front and rear tires may have sidewall damage, which can result in a sudden loss of tire pressure.

Consequence: A sudden loss of tire pressure can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 22, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2024100014.

NHTSA campaign record ↗
26V481000 · Latches/Locks/Linkages:Doors:Lock

Reported: 2026-07-24 (July 24, 2026)

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CLA, 2019-2022 A-Class, 2022-2023 C-Class, 2024 CLE, 2020-2026 GLA/GLB, and 2023-2024 GLC vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific model information. The micro-switch in the driver's door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open door, preventing the electronic parking brake or "Auto-Park" feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway.

Consequence: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's door lock, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model and model years. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 31, 2026.

On September 3, 2022 while traveling east on AL highway 110 the sunroof exploded as i was driving. Notified Montgomery county sheriff Department but they refuse to do a report because it wasn’t an accident. The dealership said something had to hit the sunroof for it to Shadder. Explained to the service advisor that there were no other vehicles in the area when the incident happened, so what could have hit it. Was informed by the service advisor that the car didn’t have a recall for the sunroof on this particular model.

Parked the car not far from home, when my boyfriend got out and shut the door, the sunroof completely imploded. Tempered yet sharp shards were everywhere including my mouth, hair and body. MB took no responsibility and wound even have the car towed. Roof was repaired via my car insurance including private towing. MB wanted nothing to do with me. I do know that this has been a serious problem all over the country for some time. Please advise.

Every time I start my new Mercedes, the backup camera MUST recalibrate itself even if I never put the vehicle in reverse and am driving forward. This happens throughout the entire drive, every single time. The Mercedes forums all corroborate this as other models; not just the GLB, experience this. Mercedes denies anything is wrong and says this is “expected behavior for rear camera calibration”. This makes absolutely no sense why a rear camera would need to recalibrate itself on every drive even when you never place the car in reverse. Fur…

We purchased a brand new Mercedes GLB in January 2021, I noticed the car started to shake. On our way leaving Zion National Park, the car started shaking really hard and the engine light turned on. The car wouldn't accelerate. We had to pull over on the side of the road. We barely made it to the dealer in St. George, Utah, with the car shaking the entire time. We met with Ryan Poleszak the service adviser, and he said that he has seen this problem several times with Mercedes 4-cylinder engines in GLB, GLA, and C-class models in the past, and it…

NEW 2020 GLB250 WITH 800 MILES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 75-80MPH, THE FRONT FENDER FLARE (DRIVER SIDE) PARTIALLY DETACHED ITSELF. THIS IS THE BLACK PIECE OF PLASTIC TRIM AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE WHEEL WELL. THE FRONT HALF OF THE FLARE PIECE WAS DETACHED AND FLYING IN THE WIND, WHILE THE REAR HALF REMAINED ATTACHED. AFTER STOPPING IT WAS POSSIBLE TO REATTACH THE PIECE AND TEMPORARILY FIX WITH DUCT TAPE, BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS IF IT HAD FALLEN OFF. PICTURE OF THE TEMPORARY REPAIR IS ATTACHED.
