Reported: 2024-03-28 (March 28, 2024)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2019 G5 school buses. A LIN gateway module may fail causing the defrosting system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."

Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealer will replace the LIN gateway module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-105-CUS.

24V448000 · Seats:Mid/Rear Assembly | Seats

Reported: 2024-06-17 (June 17, 2024)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Micro Bird G5 school buses, equipped with certain tracked 2-place seats with lap and shoulder seat belts. The seats may be improperly attached. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Consequence: An improperly attached seat can detach in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Micro Bird will provide instructions on how to inspect and reattach the seats as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 14, 2024. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-108-TUS.

24V484000 · Structure:Body:Door:Handle:Exterior | Structure:Emergency:Escape/Egress/Exit

Reported: 2024-06-27 (June 27, 2024)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2008-2025 G5, 2008-2024 MBII, and 2015-2024 T-Series school buses. The rear emergency door exterior handle may unexpectedly break under applied force.

Consequence: In the event of an emergency, a broken door handle can prevent or delay emergency responders from entering the bus, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear emergency door exterior handle, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 15, 2024. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-109-EUS.

24V707000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine:Gasoline:Belts And Associated Pulleys

Reported: 2024-09-20 (September 20, 2024)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2024 G5 school buses. The engine drive belt tensioner may fail, resulting in a loose drive belt.

Consequence: A loose drive belt can result in a loss of power steering, or a loss of alternator and water pump function, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the engine may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the engine drive belt tensioner and belt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 6, 2024. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-111-GUS.

25V190000 · Seats:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2025-03-26 (March 26, 2025)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2012, 2015-2019, and 2024 G5 school buses equipped with Type 2 seat belts. The seat reinforcement supports may not have been installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Consequence: An insufficiently retained seat can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install reinforcement supports, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 21, 2025. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-113-FUS.

25V223000 · Suspension:Front:Springs:Leaf Spring Assembly:U-Bolt, Leaf Spring To Axle

Reported: 2025-04-08 (April 8, 2025)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023 G5 school buses. The u-bolts securing the suspension blades may break.

Consequence: A broken bolt may allow the suspension to shift or detach, increasing the risk of a crash.

25V600000 · Structure:Body:Door

Reported: 2025-09-11 (September 11, 2025)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2025 T- Series, G5, and 2024-2025 MBII school buses equipped with a power-assisted service door. The rod-eye rings attaching the front and rear door panels to the opening gear may delaminate, preventing the door from being controlled by the driver.

Consequence: The door panel may remain in the open position or open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of passenger being injured falling out of the bus.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the service door mechanism for signs of rod-eye ring delamination and repair the mechanism as necessary, free of charge. 25V751000 · Equipment Adaptive/Mobility:Wheelchair Restraints/Securement:Latch/Anchor:

Reported: 2025-10-31 (October 31, 2025)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2026 G5 and 2025 T-Series school buses equipped with certain QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unlocked wheelchair can move during transit or during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2025. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-117-QUS.

25V840000 · Electrical System:Wiring

Reported: 2025-12-05 (December 5, 2025)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2025 MB II, T-Series, and 2021-2026 G5 school buses. The power cable providing electricity to the air conditioning control board may have a loose connection to the power stud on the board.

Consequence: A loose power cable connection may cause the control board to overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will secure the power cable and power stud as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 2, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-118-SUC.

Reported: 2026-03-13 (March 13, 2026)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2003-2026 MB II, 2006-2026 G5, and 2015-2026 T-Series school buses. An installation error may prevent the wheelchair tie-downs from locking, leaving the wheelchair improperly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit or a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and secure the anchor screw cap as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 26-120-AUS.

26V287000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine:Oil/Lubrication:Pipes, Hoses, And Fittings

Reported: 2026-05-06 (May 6, 2026)

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2026 G5 and 2024 MB II school buses built on a GM chassis and equipped with a second air conditioning compressor kit. The drive belt pulley may contact and damage the the oil lines.

Consequence: A damaged oil like may leak, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Remedy: Dealers will secure the oil lines, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 29, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 26-121-OUS.

The outer roll stop is very slow to deploy, takes minutes. You can step on it and make it go down but that is not proper. NY bus sales has looked at it numerous times and is still extremely slow. Other districts within our area have the same problem. DOT does not have a time specification that this must deploy, but that does not make it right. This is a Braun Millenium series. Braun has offered suggestions but nothing has worked.
