Issue 1 - Engine had a rough idle - dealer investigation found that the "upper engine mount had collapsed completely allowing the engine to rest on the housing". This problem occurred at 52 months from new vehicle purchase at 24,165 miles (warranty is 4 years, 50,000 miles). The vehicle was never in an accident, nor drive rough. No warning lamps or other indicators occurred. An internet search has identified this to be a common problem. The engine drive belt has been replaced twice. The ignition coils have been replaced twice.there have been recurrent problems with oil leaks beginning in 2016. The “water pipe” was replaced due to leak. The thermostat assembly was leaking and that was replaced. The front sway bar links and bushings were also replaced. This car has been nothing but trouble. Currently it needs a new catalytic converter due to an air leak in a section. I have repair bills for every incident. The date below is the date the oil control solenoid was replaced.

Manual transmission had an issue with 2nd gear not fully engaging and popping out under light acceleration. Transmission was replaced under warranty in December 2022. In April of 2024 the same issue occurred again where 2nd gear would not stay in gear after 18 months of having transmission replaced. The replaced transmission is no longer under warranty. This indicates a part defect of their 6-speed manual transmissions.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
