Recall history
8 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
00V389000 · Suspension
Reported: 2000-11-21 (November 21, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT COACHES. THE REINFORCEMENT BRACKETS WERE NOT WELDED ON THE TAG AXLE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL WELD THE BRACKETS ON THE TAB AXLE.
NHTSA campaign record ↗96V178007 · Seats
Reported: 1996-12-27 (December 27, 1996)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: BUSES EQUIPPED WITH ISRINGHAUSEN SEATS IN THE DRIVER POSITION. TWO WELDS LOCATED ON THE BACK REST ADJUSTMENT SIDE OF THE SEAT FRAME DID NOT MEET THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS.
Consequence: IF THESE WELDS WERE NOT TO SPECIFICATION, BACK REST LOADS COULD CAUSE THE WELDS TO FAIL. THE BACK REST WOULD DISENGAGE FROM THE SEAT FRAME ALLOWING LOSS OF SUPPORT TO THE DRIVER'S TORSO AND POSSIBLY CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
Remedy: ISRINGHAUSEN IS CONDUCTING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY CAMPAIGN FOR THIS RECALL. DEALERS WILL INSPECT THESE SEATS AND REPLACE THE SEAT FRAME ASSEMBLY.
NHTSA campaign record ↗96V222000 · Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery
Reported: 1996-11-04 (November 4, 1996)
THE GROUND STUDS IN THE ENGINE AND BATTERY COMPARTMENTS DO NOT OFFER ADEQUATE ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY.
Consequence: AN ELECTRICAL SHORT COULD CAUSE A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE GROUND STUDS AND REPLACE THEM TO ENSURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OPERATES WITHIN THE REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONS.
NHTSA campaign record ↗97V032000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 1997-03-05 (March 5, 1997)

NHTSA campaign record ↗97V100000 · Structure:Frame And Members
Reported: 1997-06-12 (June 12, 1997)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT BUSES. THE REAR SUSPENSION FORWARD RADIUS ROD SUPPORT NEEDS REINFORCEMENT AND THE RADIUS ROD RETAINING BOLTS COULD BECOME LOOSE.
Consequence: IF THE ROD SUPPORTS FRACTURED, SEPARATION COULD OCCUR INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL ADD ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENT PLATES AND CHECK THE BOLTS FOR TIGHTNESS, AND, IF NECESSARY, RETIGHTEN THESE BOLTS.
NHTSA campaign record ↗97V102000 · Visibility:Windshield
Reported: 1997-06-19 (June 19, 1997)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT BUSES. THE EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOWS HAVE BEEN BUILT WITHOUT THE LOCKING MECHANISM OF THE UPPER HINGE.
Consequence: THE WINDOWS CAN SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN OPENED TO AN APPROXIMATELY 90 DEGREE ANGLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL STOPPER BLOCKS SO THE WINDOWS CAN NOT BE OPENED TO A 90 DEGREE ANGLE.
NHTSA campaign record ↗98V024000 · Suspension:Front
Reported: 1998-02-10 (February 10, 1998)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT BUSES WITH DRIVE AXLE EQUIPPED WITH DRUM BRAKES ONLY. THE DESIGN OF THE DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-MEMBER REINFORCEMENT CAN CRACK UNDER CERTAIN APPLICATIONS.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION COULD REDUCE THE STEERING CAPABILITY MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR THE DRIVER TO DO ACCURATE TURNS.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL TWO OTHER REINFORCEMENTS TO SOLIDIFY THE CROSS-MEMBER ASSEMBLY.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2018: 0 complaints · 2019: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2019 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2019 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
Components reported together
Each cell counts unique complaints naming both components. Open a nonzero cell for examples.

Co-reporting does not establish that one component caused another concern.
Recurring narrative patterns
Specific keyword mentions beyond broad component labels. Matching includes negations and comparisons and does not confirm a diagnosis.
