Recall history
5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
04V432000 · Suspension
Reported: 2004-09-07 (September 7, 2004)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES AND MOTOR HOMES, CRACKS WERE FOUND IN THE MATERIAL USED TO MAKE SUSPENSION RADIUS ROD PINS.
Consequence: BROKEN ROD PINS CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT ALL PARTS AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE ROD PINS. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING SEPTEMBER 2004. CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-831-5432.
NHTSA campaign record ↗05V107000 · Steering:Hydraulic Power Assist:Hose, Piping, And Connections
Reported: 2005-03-23 (March 23, 2005)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES AND MOTOR HOMES, THE POWER STEERING HOSE CAN RUB IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND IN THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT WHICH WILL CAUSE A POWER STEERING HOSE BREAK DOWN.
Consequence: LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE HOSES AND REPLACE THEM IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF WEAR FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 30, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PREVOST AT 418-831-5432.
NHTSA campaign record ↗05V516000 · Visibility:Windshield Wiper/Washer:Motor
Reported: 2005-11-07 (November 7, 2005)
ON CERTAIN MULTIPLEX MOTOR COACHES, THE WIPER MOTOR THERMAL PROTECTION IS STOPPING THE MOTOR WHEN THE WIPERS ARE FUNCTIONING FOR A LONG TIME IN SECOND SPEED.
Consequence: DEPENDING ON THE OCCURRENCE AND WEATHER SITUATION, DRIVER VISIBILITY COULD BE REDUCED, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW WIPER HARNESS AND A NEW MULTIPLEX PROGRAM WILL BE DOWNLOADED IN ALL COACHES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 23, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-831-2046.
NHTSA campaign record ↗08V007000 · Equipment
Reported: 2008-01-09 (January 9, 2008)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES EQUIPPED WITH ZF/ARENS ASTRONIC SHIFT SELECTORS, A CELL PHONE PLACED IN THE PROXIMITY OF THE SHIFTER TOUCH PAD COULD CAUSE THE DISPLAY TO CHANGE FROM 'R' (REVERSE) TO 'D' (DRIVE) SHOULD THE PHONE RECEIVE A CALL.
Consequence: THIS INTERFERENCE CAN CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT OPERATE OR CAUSE IMPROPER SHIFTING, AS FORWARD GEAR CAN BE ENGAGED FROM NEUTRAL ONLY, IF THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STOPPED, AND IF THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS BEEN DEPRESSED. IF THE MALFUNCTION OCCURS WHILE 'R' (REVERSE) IS BEING SELECTED, THE SHIFTER MAY POSSIBLY CHANGE TO 'D' (DRIVE), INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: PREVOST WILL MAIL STICKERS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO THEIR OWNERS AND WILL ALSO ARRANGE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPGRADED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 13, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-831-5432.
NHTSA campaign record ↗11V449000 · Equipment
Reported: 2011-08-26 (August 26, 2011)
SUPERIOR COACH IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 1200 SERIES NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. THE POPULATION OF REFRIGERATORS BEING ADDRESSED CONTAINS EITHER A SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE RESPONSE TIMES OF THE SENSOR ALGORITHM AND THERMAL SWITCH DEVICES TO STOP POWER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.
Consequence: THE SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH INSTALLED TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HYDROGEN GAS LEAK MAY NOT SHUT OFF IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT A FIRE.
Remedy: SUPERIOR COACH IS WORKING WITH NORCOLD TO IDENTIFY AND NOTIFY ANY AFFECTED OWNERS. OWNERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT NORCOLD DEALERS TO RECEIVE THE REMEDY FREE OF CHARGE. PLEASE SEE NORCOLD'S DEFECT REPORT 10E-049 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NORCOLD AT 1-800-767-9101 OR SUPERIOR COACH INTERIORS AT 1-615-466-2000.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2022: 0 complaints · 2023: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2023 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2023 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
Components reported together
