Recall history
5 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
07V371000 · Parking Brake
Reported: 2007-08-20 (August 20, 2007)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES EQUIPPED WITH BENDIX SR-7 SPRING BRAKE MODULATING VALVES, THE INTERNAL RUBBER CHECK VALVE MAY LEAK CAUSING A DELAY IN THE APPLICATION OF THE SPRING BRAKES TO PARK THE VEHICLE AFTER THE OPERATOR PULLS THE DASH VALVE BUTTON.
Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE DELAY OR FAILURE IN APPLYING THE PARKING BRAKES WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE ROLL AWAY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: PREVOST IS WORKING WITH BENDIX TO REPAIR THESE VEHICLES (PLEASE SEE 07E037). BENDIX WILL INSTALL A CHECK VALVE REPAIR KIT FOR THE AFFECTED SR-7 SPRING BRAKE MODULATING VALVE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BENDIX AT 1-440-329-9000 OR PREVOST AT 1-418-831-2046.
NHTSA campaign record ↗08V007000 · Equipment
Reported: 2008-01-09 (January 9, 2008)
ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES EQUIPPED WITH ZF/ARENS ASTRONIC SHIFT SELECTORS, A CELL PHONE PLACED IN THE PROXIMITY OF THE SHIFTER TOUCH PAD COULD CAUSE THE DISPLAY TO CHANGE FROM 'R' (REVERSE) TO 'D' (DRIVE) SHOULD THE PHONE RECEIVE A CALL.
Consequence: THIS INTERFERENCE CAN CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT OPERATE OR CAUSE IMPROPER SHIFTING, AS FORWARD GEAR CAN BE ENGAGED FROM NEUTRAL ONLY, IF THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STOPPED, AND IF THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS BEEN DEPRESSED. IF THE MALFUNCTION OCCURS WHILE 'R' (REVERSE) IS BEING SELECTED, THE SHIFTER MAY POSSIBLY CHANGE TO 'D' (DRIVE), INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: PREVOST WILL MAIL STICKERS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO THEIR OWNERS AND WILL ALSO ARRANGE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPGRADED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 13, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-831-5432.
NHTSA campaign record ↗12V303000 · Vehicle Speed Control:Accelerator Pedal
Reported: 2012-06-26 (June 26, 2012)
PREVOST IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2011 H3-45 AND MODEL YEAR 2009-2011 X3-45 COACHES EQUIPPED WITH VOLVO D13 ENGINES. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR MAY BE INOPERATIVE DUE TO A PERMANENT IDLE SIGNAL.
Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, THE VEHICLE MAY STOP RESPONDING TO INPUT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND THUS BECOME STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: PREVOST WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THROTTLE SENSOR, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 13, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-883-2888.
NHTSA campaign record ↗15V122000 · Fuel System, Diesel
Reported: 2015-03-02 (March 2, 2015)
Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain model year 2007-2012 XLII, X3-45, H3-41, H3-45, and H3-45 VIP vehicles manufactured July 5, 2007, to May 11, 2012. The affected vehicles may be missing a fuel line locating clip, allowing the fuel line to rub against the braided coolant hose.
Consequence: The fuel line rubbing may result in abrasion and a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel line for abrasion, replacing it as necessary, and will properly secure the fuel line and coolant line, free of charge. The recall began on March 26, 2015. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-418-883-3391. Prevost's number for this recall is SR15-04.
NHTSA campaign record ↗24V523000 · Equipment Adaptive/Mobility:Wheelchair Lift/Ramp
Reported: 2024-07-09 (July 9, 2024)
Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2005-2024 X3-45, 2017-2019 and 2021-2023 X3-45 Commuter, 2006-2007, 2014, and 2018 H3-41, 2005-2020 and 2022-2024 H3-45, and 2019 H3-45 VIP buses equipped with a wheelchair lift. The wheelchair platform bridging device may be too steep, which can cause the wheelchair to become unstable. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 403, "Platform Lift Devices" and 404, "Platform Lift Installations."
Consequence: An unstable wheelchair increases the risk of injury to lift occupants.
Remedy: Prevost will replace the wheelchair lift bridging device, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR24-26.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2022: 0 complaints · 2023: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2023 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2023 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
