2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

16V739000 · Electrical System:Alternator/Generator/Regulator

Reported: 2016-10-13 (October 13, 2016)

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Charger Police vehicles, 2007-2013 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2008-2013 RAM 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis, and 2013 RAM 2500 and 3500 vehicles. The affected vehicles have a 220 amp alternator that may suddenly fail.

Consequence: If the alternator fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. There is also the possibility that the alternator may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the alternator with a revised alternator, free of charge. The recall began on December 23, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S68.

My vehicle came with 4X4 gear box shift on the floor. I could not get it to move into neutral or 4 low gear. I hardly drove in so it was no big deal so one day I pulled up the boot around the shift and there was a screw blocking the forward movement. It was the same screw that mount the plastic around the shift, after removing it I was able to get all the gears. The danger in that screw could have put me at risk by locking me into a gear and only staying there. The only reason I discovered this was I changed out my vinyl for carpet.

The contact owns a 2026 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine, 4WD, ABS, park sensors, and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the speed sensor for the rear wheels; however, the failure persisted, and the transmission failed to recognize that the gear selector was in park(P). Roadside Assistance arrived and unplugged the battery cables to turn off the engine. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was waiting for engineers to dia…

THE INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL IN THE 2015 RAM TRUCKS DOES NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE BRAKE CONTROL TO THE TRAILER BRAKES. I TRADED IN A 2013 RAM 3500 AND THE INTEGRATED CONTROLLER ALLOWED ME TO SET UP THE BRAKES SO I COULD LOCK THE TIRES UP, THEN I WOULD BACK THE VOLTAGE DOWN SLIGHTLY FROM THERE TO GET MAXIMUM BRAKING PERFORMANCE FROM THE TRAILER. WITH THE NEW TRUCK, THERE WASN'T THE ABILITY TO GET MUCH BRAKING AT ALL. DEALERS ARE TELLING THOSE WITH THE SAME TRUCKS, THAT IT IS WORKING AS DESIGNED AND THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM. MONDAY, AUGUST 1…

THERE IS AN EXTREME DELAY WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND ACTUAL ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO CORRELATION BETWEEN HOW FAR THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED AND VEHICLE ACCELERATION. WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AND ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THIS DELAY IS A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM. THERE ARE TIMES THAT A 2-3 SECOND DELAY IS EXPERIENCED BETWEEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY MOVING.

With 20k miles the High-Pressure Fuel Pump blowup in middle of the freeway in NY. This part name is CP4. My truck subtlety stops in freeway in very dangerous situation. My luck is I had a State Patrol few cars back and he help me to safety the area and wait the tow. My truck stays 2 months parked on at Dealer to fix. The reason is they don’t have a new CP4 to replace is because all 2020 diesel Ram trucks had the same problem. 5 months later my CP4 blowup again with 49k miles now my CP4 and my Tank Fuel Pump breakdown in same time. The vehicle had been parked in the street for several hours. I started the vehicle in order to back it into my driveway for the night and then turned it off (total run time for the operation was most likely under a minute from the time the engine was started until it was shut down). I did not notice any signs, warnings, safety indicators, or dash lights to alert me to any possible problems. Upon exiting the truck I detected a ve…

There is a recall for the trailer brake control and trailer wiring for light. I bought the truck to tow my 5th wheel trailer and have travel plans starting in march of this year.. ram has put a stop sale on 450k trucks because of this recall. The dealers are fixing the unsold trucks on the lot before they fix customer vehicles that have already been purchased. All the dealerships in Arizona are telling me it could be 3-6 months before my truck is fixed.. so I can’t safely tow a trailer or go on my trips. So basically I have a 1 ton truck that i…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
