ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE ENGINE OF MY WIFE'S SATURN [XXX] HAS CONTINUED TO RUN AT AN ELEVATED SPEED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED. THEN WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES. IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL THE RPMS DROP, BUT WHEN IT IS PUT BACK INTO DRIVE THE RPMS INCREASE AND WHEN THE BRAKE IS PRESSED THE VIBRATIONS RESUME. EVENTUALLY THE SITUATION CLEARS. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT WE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL SATURN DEALER WHO REPORTED THAT THERE WERE NO COMPUTER CODES SO THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.…

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
