The vehicle consistently displays the message "Rear right safety restraint system fault" on the dashboard since its delivery in January 2024. This indicates a potential malfunction in the airbag or seatbelt system, posing a safety risk to passengers occupying the rear right seat while the vehicle is in operation. Despite multiple inspections and diagnoses by Tesla, the dealership has attributed the issue to a firmware or software glitch without providing a definitive solution. Consequently, the warning message persists on a daily basis, necessi…

Owner report 11597451 · 2024-06-28 (June 28, 2024)

Tesla has replaced the stalk, normally used for turn signals, into touch screen buttons on the steering wheel. It is very difficult to use these buttons to switch on the turn signal, especially if the steering is not pointing absolutely straight. In other words, if the steering is turned at even a small angle, it becomes almost impossible to press the correct touch screen button without looking down and therefore compromising attention to the road. This can be dangerous, especially at higher speeds, when a fraction of a second delay in respo…

I believe the pedal speed control and emergency brake have problems. When I reported to Tesla, they said the vehicle was not at fault. I want to bring to your attention a safety issue on the 2024 Tesla Model X. The turn signal buttons are a safety hazard. 1. I have found myself pressing the wrong turn signal button and was nearly in an accident more than once. That’s because the turn signals are placed too close together (see attachment). You have to take your eyes off the road and look down to make sure you are pressing the correct turn signal button. It’s too easy to press the wrong button. 2. There is an issue with the GPS in that the location is not accurate, sometimes it is off by 10-20 feet, enough to put it on a different road, sometimes it's off by 100s of feet. This is very dangerous as when using Autopilot, it uses map data to set the cruising speed, and if the GPS is reporting the car is on a different road, the speed can change to being faster or slower than the actual road the car is on. This results in sudden braking. The car will be on the highway, traveling at 55MPH, and then all of a sudden the GPS thinks its on a side…

Incident Description: I was driving on the highway using Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) / FSD Supervised at approximately 65+ mph. Traffic conditions were moderate, and weather and visibility conditions were clear. While FSD was actively engaged, my phone began ringing. As I briefly attempted to silence the ringing phone, the FSD system unexpectedly disengaged/canceled during highway driving. I did not receive sufficient audible warning, advance notification, or adequate transition time to safely assume full manual control of the vehicle. Ther…

For over the past 18 months, Tesla FSD software deliberately removed the driver’s ability to control following distance, instead replacing it with fuzzy descriptions of “mad max, hurry, standard, chill, and sloth.” As a result the car cannot maintain a safe highway following distance as determined by the driver. When in Hurry and or Standard mode, the car will routinely reach speeds of 75 to 80 mph and decrease following distance to about 3 car lengths, with no car for more than 20 car lengths behind. When a sudden slowdown occurs, the tesla …

Around 1:50 P.M May 27, 2021, I left my house driving my Tesla 2020 Model X with my son in the front passenger seat to his school. We returned to our home around 2:19 P.M. At our front gate, I slowed down to a close stop as I turned the vehicle into my driveway. Once descending the driveway, my Tesla vehicle suddenly accelerated to an extremely high speed. While I attempted to brake; however, none of the speed controls seemed to work. The vehicle hit my 2009 Toyota Camry parked on the left side of my driveway first, then took out the heavy duty…

My 2025 Model X has a feature commonly called "one pedal drive", where lifting pressure off the gas pedal causes regenerative braking force. This feature is *forced on* at all times, and is unsafe in slippery icy conditions, especially turns, especially downhill. I don't know if this is because of a malfunction of their regen-braking anti-lock (the ABS equvialent), or because it's simply not possible to drive safely in slippery conditions with one-pedal-drive regen braking... but either way, this situation is unsafe. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding ongoing safety and service issues with my 2024 Tesla Model X. This is the third Tesla vehicle we’ve owned, and while our previous two vehicles performed excellently, this one has presented serious and recurring problems with the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. Since the second service visit, we have experienced four separate incidents in which the vehicle has either driven off the road or abruptly slammed on the brakes without warning. Despite two prior service appointments at the Tesla Service…

Due to network latency/ connection drops in the Tesla infotainment system, there was a significant delay before the open command executed. After it finally opened, I proceeded to back out in Reverse. However, due to buffering/retry logic during the network reconnect, the system unexpectedly transmitted a follow-up "Close" command without any driver input. Because this automated ghost command executed while the vehicle was actively backing out, the overhead …

Purchased this vehicle new from Tesla on March 29, 2024. As I got home I hear a pop sound come from underneath the car and the abs warning light came on. The vehicle lost some of the functions like regenerative breaking and cruise control. The suspension was also inoperable. I brought the car in on the first availible service date to get the repair done which took a few days. After repair was completed I went back to pick the car up only to have the same warnings appear on the odometer and lost of functionality again 20 minutes into driving hom…
