Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V758000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017)

Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V758-5764.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Thor will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

The front entry area and steps are falling down leaving an opening between the lower step and door (pictures in attached file). Every time we enter the coach the steps sag, drop, and the floor dips. What if we or someone falls as the steps drop, or falls through the floor? We are also concerned if they will just fall out while we are driving down the road?! When inspected by the Camping World Service Technician, the attachment bolts that hold the step box to the main flooring frame screws broke and the box and steps are falling down. He showed…

The bolts used to mount the RV body to the frame are substandard and spaced too far apart. The RV body weight causes these bolts to begin shearing off. Once one shears off, the entire RV becomes unstable and causes more bolts to fail. On this RV, all of the bolts from the front of the coach to the second exterior storage bin back, on both sides failed. This is a distance of approximately 10 feet on each side. The RV body dropped from the frame 1.5" on the driver side and 2" on the passenger side. This caused safety issues in that the exit door …

Hello We took the RV on our trip in Nov 2021 and noticed cold air entering the cabin near the driver and passenger feet. After pulling the 45degress trim that covers sits between the floor and wall I noticed that is a gap and I could see the road. Upon further investigation it looks like the side wall has separated from the floor of RV. Upon further research, it appears the entire length of the sidewalls of the RV is attached to the floor using 3&1/2 inch machine screws. In my case those screws had sheared off. That essentially means the side …

My trailer almost separated from the RV while I was driving. There was only about 5% of the metal remaining, even though I was only towing 1100 lbs of the 8000lb capacity. After posting in a Facebook chat (Thor Outlaw Owners and Wannabees) there were probably a dozen owners that posted pictures of the same exact incidents. 2022 Thor Outlaw. RV had a whopping 3400 miles on it. We were driving from San Diego to Seattle. Three of our front left windows delaminated from the sealant that holds the window to the window controller. Lucky for us they didn't depart the coach. We had to tape them in place for the remainder of the ride. Could have made a serious problem for cars in the other lane if the window departed. There is already a recall out for this, it is RC000232. It doesn't cover newer models, but the manufacturer has not addressed the problem. This cou…

The passenger wiper stopped syncing with the driver-side wiper and eventually broke and fell off. I was told by Thor customer service on September 7th, 2022 that my VIN number did not have any active recalls by the NHTSA, including recall RC000146 on my 2015 Thor Outlaw Class A motorhome. I believe it should be covered under the recall for repair.

I was driving when the vehicle suddenly lost power; as it coasted to a stop, the cabin filled with gas smell. I stopped the vehicle and noticed significant amount of gasoline dripping from the engine. The vehicle was towed and service personnel determined the fuel line, specifically the plastic part that was clipped to the engine fuel rail, had catastrophically failed. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
