DAIMLER TRUCKS IS RECALLING 2,506 MY 2008 XC MOTOR HOME CHASSIS AND THOMAS BUILT HDX SCHOOL AND TRANSIT BUSES EQUIPPED WITH SAF-HOLLAND ADL SERIES REAR SUSPENSIONS. IN SOME INSTANCES THE TRANSVERSE BEAM WAS NOT PROPERLY WELDED WHICH COULD RESULT IN A FAILURE OF THE WELD.
Consequence: IF THE WELD FAILS, VEHICLE STABILITY WHILE CORNERING COULD BE AFFECTED RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSVERSE BEAM COULD DROP TO THE GROUND CAUSING SPARKS THAT COULD CAUSE A FIRE HAZARD.
Remedy: DAIMLER TRUCKS IS WORKING WITH SAF-HOLLAND TO HAVE A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE ADL TRANSVERSE BEAM PERFORMED. IF A WELD DEFECT IS IDENTIFIED, SAF-HOLLAND WILL PROVIDE A SERVICE REPLACEMENT KIT THAT CONTAINS A NEW TRANSVERSE BEAM, ALL NECESSARY INSTALLATION HARDWARE, BEAM REPLACEMENT, AND INSTRUCTIONS FREE OF CHARGE (PLEASE SEE 08E031). Reported: 2009-04-16 (April 16, 2009)
TIFFIN IS RECALLING 329 MY 2008-2009 ALLEGRO BUSES. THE REAR AXLE ABS MODULATING VALVE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE WIRED INCORRECTLY. THE RIGHT AND LEFT MODULATOR VALVE HARNESS PIN COULD POSSIBLY BE REVERSED AT THE ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) CONNECTOR.
Consequence: UNDER SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS, WHEN IN THE ABS MODE, THIS WIRING PROBLEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE ONE SIDE OF THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK WHILE CAUSING LITTLE OR NO BRAKING EFFORT ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THIS MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL AND A VEHICLE CRASH.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2022: 0 complaints · 2023: 2 complaints

| 2022 | 0 | 0 | 0 |

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
