1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V841000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-12-22 (December 22, 2017)

Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2009-2018 Allegro and Allegro RED, Bus and Phaeton vehicles, 2009-2010 Bay vehicles, 2011-2018 Breeze vehicles, and 2009-2015, and 2017-2018 Zephyr vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2018. Owners may contact Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Owners may also contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661.

This is reference to the recall for the TPMS system (tire pressure measurement system) under recall campaign SF644A-C. According to the freightliner people they have preformed the necessary recall work and have closed the recall notice as being complete. However, the TPMS still does not work. Now it shows a tire communication error. It is still the same system that is not working!!!

Related to NHTSA Campaign number 22V273000 - Tiffin used Lippert Hydraulic parts for the 3 slideouts on our unit. two of the slideouts creep out on their own several inches. Tiffin tried to repair in January, 2024 but it has become worse since then. After contacting Tiffin, they sent us to Lippert which we have opened a case with them. Lippert continues to tell us that they know what the problem is but is not able to get the parts needed to fix this issue. This is a safety issue with slide outs creeping on their own while driving down the …

IN NORMAL CROSS WIND CONDITIONS THE VEHICLE IS NEARLY UNCONTROLLABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE WIND WILL MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEXT LANE WITHOUT WARNING. IT TAKES AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF STRENGTH TO CORRECT THE STEERING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL LANE. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND TO USE MY OWN JUDGEMENT WHEN TO STOP OPERATING THE VEHICLE DUE TO WIND.

This is in reference to NHTSA #21V-921. We received a recall letter from Daimler Trucks indicating that an inner rear tire support grommet and valve extension needs to be removed due to the possibility that the support grommet will fall out resulting in the potential failure of the inner tire valve extension. Daimler issued a similar recall in 2020 which was related to the same issue but the remedy was to replace and or reinstall the grommet. In our case a service center installed the grommet and used RTV to hold it in place. The recall s…

On 6/16 we experienced a Freightliner Optiview Dash Flat Panel Delamination with resulted in lines going through the gauges on the Dash. The Dash appears to be functioning with the defect. Initially we thought the flat panel display had cracked. We contacted Freightliner 24/7 Technical Support (Case #15355287) to report the issue. The Representative said that he had not heard of this issue. When in fact Freightliner had a recall on the flat panel units manufactured by Medallion Inc, that our Motorhome was not included based on the 2020 model…

The Freightliner optiview instrument cluster dash display delamination is starting. All the vital information in order to be able to operate my Rv safely on the road is a concern. From knowing my speed to all the vital engine and tire conditions is a road hazard. I would hate to cause an accident due to this serious flaw with this part. Freightliner claims they are not going to replace the dash under warranty. I believe that a safety recall is justified.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
