Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

19V877000 · Seat Belts: Rear/Other:Buckle Assembly | Seat Belts:Rear/Other

Reported: 2019-12-11 (December 11, 2019)

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2019-2020 C-HR and 2020 Corolla and Corolla Hybrid vehicles equipped with rear seat belt assemblies with a dual-mode locking mechanism. The seat belt webbing sensor locking mechanism may not lock as intended.

Consequence: In the event of a crash involving multiple impacts, the seat belt may not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear seat belt assembly production dates, and replace the assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 7, 2020. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 19TB22 and 19TA22.

The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Consequence: If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved one, free of charge. Owners of specific models were notified that remedy parts were available starting January 21, 2021. Owners of other models will be notified as remedy parts become available. 23V865000 · Air Bags:Sensor:Occupant Classification

Reported: 2023-12-20 (December 20, 2023)

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Corolla, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, Lexus ES350, Lexus RX350, Lexus RX450H, 2021 Sienna Hybrid, Lexus ES250, 2020-2022 Camry, Camry Hybrid, and ES300H vehicles. A short circuit may develop in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensor, preventing the front passenger air bag from deploying.

Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy during a crash increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the sensor as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed in February 2024. Some final remedy owner letters were mailed October 31, 2024. Letters will continue to be mailed in phases through January 2026. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. 2025 Toyota Corolla SE Just wanted to bring attention to the gauge cluster (when the sun is streaming into the car) you cannot read the gauge cluster. The first picture is when the sun is streaming into the car - very hard to read. 2nd picture is upper left side with partial sun glare. 3rd pic is what it should look like all the time. The glass over the gauge cluster should be made out of some kind of anti glare glass so that the gauges are clearly visible all the time or gauge hood needs to be larger.

I traded in my 2022 Corolla LE for a 2026 Corolla SE and I got my car on December 19th, 2025 and ever since I got it, the wireless charger hasn’t been working not once. I turn it on, it charges and the light is green and after a few seconds, it stops charging and flashes orange repeatedly. I tried it with different phones, without a case, and brought it to the dealership where they replaced the wireless charger but the issue continued with the new charger, so they put back the original one. EVEN TRYING TO MIMIC IT UNDER THE SAME EXACT CONDITIONS, SOMETIMES IT WILL SIMPLY NOT DO IT.. SOMETIMES IT WILL BE A HARD THUMP. OTHER TIMES IT WILL FEEL PREMATURE. Beginning on April 18, 2025, my 2020 Toyota Corolla LE began experiencing repeated failures involving multiple safety systems while driving. Without warning, several lights illuminate at the same time, including: Brake System Malfunction, Pre-Collision System, Parking Brake System, Vehicle Stability Control, Check Engine, and Secondary Collision Brake System. These warnings appear suddenly during normal driving, then sometimes disappear, then return again unpredictably. These failures disable several integrated safety systems and create a seri…

Clutch Slave Cylinder at 51,000 miles failed causing vehicle clutch to not return and loss of fluid. Brake fluid and clutch fluid are used in the same reservoir and could cause issues causing vehicle to not be able to stop. Vehicle has been inspected by shop and has been replicated. The part exploded and leaks fluid inside of transmission housing. This also causes the clutch to fail as-well. Vehicle has always been serviced and maintained and this is a common issue with all vehicles that have 6 speed manual transmission with varying mileage. It…

DESIGN FLAW & SAFETY RISK: Toyota critically mismatched the standard battery to the vehicle's electrical charging profile; an AGM battery should be specified from the factory. Engine programming drops alternator voltage during cruising, deeply discharging the battery, and forces high-voltage surges (15V+) into it during deceleration. Because standard batteries cannot handle these rapid recharge loads during deceleration, the internal thermal load routinely overheats and boils the liquid electrolyte, even when brand new. This continuous boiling …

Around 40k miles I received an Engine Maintenance Required warning. After some research Engine Maintenance and Engine Service Required are two very different indicators. I received and P2681 code meaning the electrical coolant bypass valve had failed unfortunately one can’t tell if it’s stuck shut or open this could lead to one’s care over heating and or damaging one’s engine. After some research I’ve come to find out most 2020-2024 corollas have been having this issue tends to happen about 30-50k miles

UNKNOWN While driving my car will cut off and a power steering message will appear, but when its serviced at the dealership they show no issue with the power steering. It cuts off suddenly without notice. One time i was at a light in traffic, another time i was waiting on a car to pass to pull out onto a busy highway

Newly bought vehicle won't start when key is turned in ignition. Problem is a repeat problem and vehicle was repeatedly towed to dealer (Gosch Toyota). Dealer said there is nothing wrong with the car . Dealer admits he can't reproduce the problem and paperwork I've obtained from them indicates they may not have even tried. Car has major safety issue and is unreliable which is an explanation falling on deaf ears at Gosch. So it remains parked in my driveway. I refuse to put anyone in my family into it because of obvious safety issues. Ca…

Vehicle would not start. After the vehicle's battery was jumped, the vehicle would start, but upon moving the vehicle, the dashboard message read, "Engine Stopped - Steering Power Low." There are numerous entries in online forums of others looking for solution for the same issue. Sometimes others have said that this occurred while in stop-and-go traffic on the highway or idling at a red light. Clearly, if a vehicle becomes disabled on a roadway with no prior warning of a failing battery, that is a safety issue. There was no warning of a failin…

Car would not start/turn over - Not battery related. Toyota determined the ECU went bad and stated the cause was improperly jumping the battery. The issue happened randomly one day (car was driving fine previous days)
