Owner report 11578800 · 2024-03-21 (March 21, 2024)

When driving at night with headlights on low beam the driver’s side headlight casts a distracting shadow on the road. Not only does this shadow prevent full illumination of the roadway, limiting visibility on the driver’s side, but the shadow can also make it look like an obstacle might be in the road. This shadow is not there when the bright lights are on. I have had this vehicle since Dec. 15, 2023 & I have had two different Toyota service departments check this out. I am trying to locate any information and updates on my second key fob that was not received at the time of the purchase of my car. Every month I talk with Toyota they say by the end of this month you should receive your letter, so the end of the month passes and I reach out to toyota and they state it was pushed back to the end of this month and so on. 24V548000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2024-07-23 (July 23, 2024)

Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain Toyota 2023 GR Supra, 2024 4 Runner, Corolla, Grand Highlander, Grand Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser Hybrid, Tacoma, Tacoma Hybrid, 2023-2024 BZ4X, Corolla Cross Hybrid, GR Corolla, GR86, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius Prime, Sequoia Hybrid, Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, 2023-2025 Crown, and 2025 Camry Hybrid vehicles equipped with GST accessories. The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: GST will mail new labels to owners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2024. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 24R2.

Reported: 2025-09-11 (September 11, 2025)

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and 4 Runner vehicles. Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.

Consequence: An instrument panel display that does not show critical information can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will update the instrument panel software over-the-air (OTA) for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025. Additional letters will be sent, anticipated in May 2026. This is a phased recall. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence: A rearview camera that fails to display an image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the parking assist software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 2, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB13 and 25LB06. Subaru's number for this recall is WRE25.

Very small rock hit front windshield, which cracked soon after purchase. I might be willing to rack this up to bad luck, but there are several others that have posted online about the exact same scenario, see ToyotaNation forum https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/windshield-repair.1695878/ as well as on the Facebook 2021+ Venza hybrid club. I think its likely that the front windshield is under engineered and this presents a safety hazard. Im a fan of Toyota but I think there is something that needs to be looked at here.

During the commute on the way home on [XXX] between Harrisburg and Lebanon PA a stone kicked up in a construction zone and impacted the driver side windshield. At that time there was no visible damage until later in the drive there was a 3in long crack in the driver side line of sight. As the drive continued the crack continued across the line of sight. Over the course of 2 days the crack went from 3inches to halfway across the windshield. The stone crack was no bigger than a size of an eraser on a pencil. I believe this needs investigated …

I don’t have the specific date that this happened because it was several times. When I first got the car the Toyota app stopped working after a few days. I brought it back a couple times and they replaced the headpiece because the app system crashed. Then the CarPlay stopped working not long after the head piece was replaced and the app stopped working. After going to the dealership for eight or nine times they finally ordered me a DCM. While waiting for that part, the auto start via key fog was not heating up the car. So with presetting t…

When driving at night using low beams a shadow is cast by the headlights. The shadow is on the driver's side approximately 100 feet in front of the vehicle, at the 11:00 position. This gives the impression that someone or something is entering the path of the vehicle causing the driver to brake or swerve to avoid a collision. This endangers the occupants of the vehicle and others on the roadway. If the driver grows accustomed to this and "learns" not to pay attention to this area of his/her path it endangers those who enter this area.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
