VEHICLE IS A 2012 TRIUMPH TIGER 800 MOTORCYCLE WITH 980 MILES. BIKE RAN FLAWLESSLY UNTIL TODAY WHEN IT DEVELOPED A RANDOM ENGINE STALLING PROBLEM THAT OCCURS AS THE THROTTLE IS INITIALLY APPLIED, REGARDLESS OF CLUTCH ACTION OR POSITION. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN STOPPED AS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AND CAN CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN MOTORISTS AREN'T EXPECTING THE BIKE TO BLOCK THE INTERSECTION. THIS IS A CLASS PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MOTORCYCLE. I AM A MEMBER OF A TIGER 800 FORUM AND THIS ISSUE AFFECTS ABOUT 30% OF THE OWNERS TH…

NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V104000 ("DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ERROR, THE TURN SIGNAL STEMS ON THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE MOTORCYCLE MAY FRACTURE. ") IS ALREADY IN EFFECT FOR SOME TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLES, INCLUDING MY MAKE/MODEL/YEAR. THE VIN ON MY TRIUMPH DOES NOT FALL INTO THIS RECALL FOR SOME REASON, BUT I'VE ALREADY EXPERIENCED BOTH FRONT TURN SIGNALS FAILING IN THE EXACT SAME WAY THIS RECALL DESCRIBES. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED TO MY FRONT RIGHT SIGNAL IN JUNE 2015. I NOTICED MY FRONT LEFT SIGNAL BROKEN TODAY, OCTOBER 12, 2017.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
