i bought a brand new truck in march 19 2025. it was a Volvo vnl 860 tractor. The incident happened on June, 7, 2025. i was driving on i81 northbound near exit 228 Verona city, Augusta County. i was in the left lane and my speed was 70 mph and approaching a bridge suddenly a SUV from right lane comes into my lane and hit my truck from right and then comes in front of my truck makes a direct front impact. i was shocked by this impact and trying to keep my truck in my lane but my all my truck safety features are stop working and lane departure fea…

24V791000 · Electrical System:Software | Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip:Abs Warning Light

Reported: 2024-10-23 (October 23, 2024)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling one 2025 New VN truck. A software error in the instrument cluster may cause the anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light not to illuminate. As such, this vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: An ABS warning light that fails to illuminate will not alert the driver of an ABS malfunction, which could increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: A dealer will reprogram the software, free of charge. Owners may contact Volvo Customer Service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo's number for this recall is RVXX2410.

25V102000 · Service Brakes, Air:Controls:Proportioning Relay Valve

Reported: 2025-02-18 (February 18, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2023-2025 New VN trucks. The brakes may take longer than expected to activate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: Delayed brake activation can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will install a new pneumatic circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2502.

25V214000 · Interior Lighting | Exterior Lighting:Hazard Flashing Warning Lights:Switch

Reported: 2025-04-08 (April 8, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2023-2026 New VN trucks. The hazard switch back lighting may become inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."

Consequence: A hazard switch that is not illuminated may be difficult to locate when needed, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will update the vehicle master control unit (VMCU) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2503.

25V257000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine:Diesel

Reported: 2025-04-17 (April 17, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Volvo VN and 2025 New VN trucks. The idler gear bracket fasteners may have been improperly tightened, allowing the idler gear to detach from the engine.

Consequence: A detached idler gear can damage the engine, resulting in a stall and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the turbo compound units as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2504.

Reported: 2025-08-11 (August 11, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Volvo New VN trucks. The dynamic steering and oversteer guidance feature may malfunction and cause a loss of steering control.

Consequence: A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The oversteer guidance feature will be disabled through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 22, 2025. 25V621000 · Exterior Lighting:Lighting Control Module

Reported: 2025-09-18 (September 18, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2026 New VN trucks. When towing a trailer, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate due to an improperly manufactured body control module.

Consequence: Trailer tail lights and turn signals that do not illuminate as intended can reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the trailer body input/output module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Reported: 2025-11-20 (November 20, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The load lock clamps, located on the back of the cab, may loosen and cause the load lock bars to become unsecured.

Consequence: A loose or unsecured load lock bar can result in a loss of cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the load lock clamps, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. 25V804000 · Exterior Lighting:Lighting Control Module:Software

Reported: 2025-11-20 (November 20, 2025)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 VNR (4) and 2024-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The automatic high beams (AHB) may not switch to low beam headlights as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: High beam headlights that do not switch to low beam as intended can reduce visibility for oncoming traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: As an interim action, Volvo Trucks will update the vehicle software through an over-the-air (OTA) update to disable the AHB feature, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed June 1, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2511. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024-2027 VNL (4) vehicles that do not include auxiliary parking brakes. If the vehicle is in weight bias mode there may not be enough weight on the parking brake axle, which could result in inadequate parking brake force.

Consequence: Inadequate parking brake force can result in a rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the brake chambers, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 29, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The instrument panel may fail while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."

Consequence: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the instrument panel clusters, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 8, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The service brake may take longer than expected to release. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: A delayed brake release can increase the risk of crash.

Remedy: Dealers will install an additional brake valve and fittings to the service brake pneumatic plumbing, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed July 29, 2026.Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2602.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2027 VNL (4) and 2026-2027 VNR (4) vehicles. The vehicle turn signals may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Turn signals that do not function properly may fail to indicate the driver's intention to change vehicle direction, increasing the risk of a crash.

Reported: 2026-04-23 (April 23, 2026)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026-2027 VNR (4) and 2025-2027 VNL (4) vehicles. The rear brake modulators may have unprotected electrical connectors that can short circuit and lead to a loss of the anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC).

Consequence: A loss of anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rear brake modulator electrical connectors, install a protective cover, and replace the rear brake modulators, as necessary, free of charge. Reported: 2026-09-28 (September 28, 2026)

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2027 VNL (4) and 2026-2027 VNR (4) vehicles equipped with a tanker application package. Inaccurate axle load calculations may cause reduced braking performance while transporting smoothbore tanker trailers.

Consequence: Reduced braking performance can require a greater distance to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will install new software to disable the dynamic trailer braking calculations, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 27, 2026.
