Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
22V500000 · Structure:Body:Step/Ladder | Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer
Reported: 2022-07-12 (July 12, 2022)
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Inspire motorhomes. The support underneath the step well cover may be insufficient.
Consequence: An insufficient support underneath the step well cover can allow the step to collapse when stepped on, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replaced the 0.75 inch support surface to 1.50 inches, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2022. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is Recall 167.
NHTSA campaign record ↗23V365000 · Seat Belts:Critical Fasteners
Reported: 2023-05-24 (May 24, 2023)
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Winnebago Shell, 2021-2023 Winnebago Inspire, 2022-2023 Winnebago Vista, Adventurer, Forza, Journey and Itasca Sunstar motorhomes. The seat belt attachment may have been improperly tightened. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Consequence: A loose seat belt attachment may not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the seat belt attachment fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago at 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 175.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2022: 2 complaints · 2023: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 1 | 2 | 2 |
| 2023 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
| 2023 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
