THE CLUTCH CABLE SNAPPED WHEN SHIFTING GEARS BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR INITIALLY AT 18090 MILES. I INSPECTED THE CABLE PERIODICALLY AND LUBRICATED THE CABLE WITH EVERY OIL CHANGE (2500) MILES. THE CABLE BROKE DOWN BY THE ENGINE NOT AT THE LEVER. AFTER THE BREAKAGE I REPLACED THE CABLE IN NOVEMBER 2012. THE CABLE BROKE AGAIN AT 27070 MILES IN AUGUST 2014 WHEN I WAS IN DENSE TRAFFIC. SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THIS PRESENTED AN VERY UNSAFE DRIVING SITUATION, I WAS FORCED TO FORCE SHIFT THE BIKE (NO CLUTCH ENGAGED) INTO 2ND GEAR UNTIL I COULD …

FORTUNATLEY THE BIKE WAS ABLE TO BE STOPPED WITHOUT THE REAR WHEEL LOCKING UP. APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN A KNOW ISSUE WITH OTHER VICTORY MOTORCYCLES. ACCORDING TO THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE SINCE THE INCIDENT. THE PULLEY WAS INSTALLED WITH POWDER COATING ON THE MATING SURFACE. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
