I was driving on the highway 87 California from the south to the north. After I changed to the furthest left lane and stay within the lane completely. I started to turn on ADAS system, as I was adjusting the desired speed, I felt the car was speeding up too much to reach my speed set up, so I decided to step on the brake to slow down the car. Right when I step on the brake, I heard a loud noise from the car, which I strongly believe the car was experiencing the conflicting command within its software. 1) Forward collision detection doesn't work. Very rarely screen shows a pop up, but never applies automatic brakes. Especially when we were in traffic and if vehicle infrant suddenly stops. ..then it doesn't detect the forward stopped objects and fail to apply breaks 2) we need to push break paddle hard to stop the vehicle completely when car is below 10Mil/hrs speed . Vehicle drive system fault: This issue has happened to me 2x in my personal car and 1x in the loaner vehicle that Vinfast gave me. When this happens, the vehicle shuts off. You can’t put the car in drive or reverse. You have to leave the car, wherever it is, walk a good distance away& wait for about 15mins. The first time, I was pulling into a spot at a grocery store & and car died in the middle of the aisle. I was blocking all traffic. I purchased my Vinfast VF8 in March 2023 as one of the first to be delivered. Unfortunately, on the first day of receiving the car, I encountered some issues. The fault sensors went off repeatedly, particularly during a rainy day. The car currently has 9600 miles on it, and it has been driven from San Diego to Irvine around 3-4 times to be serviced for issues associated with the functionality of the VF8, with one of those trips being to a repair facility in San Francisco. When regenerative braking is active brake lights do not turn on causing vehicles behind you to come extremely close. The vehicle has extremely strong regenerative breaking. That should activate the brake lights.
