THE STEERING WHEEL PADDLE SHIFTERS AUTOMATICALLY TURN THEMSELVES OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN SITUATION WHERE ENGINE BRAKING IS NECESSARY (INCLEMENT WEATHER, STEEP DOWN GRADES. WHEN USING THE PADDLES TO DOWN SHIFT AND SLOW THE CAR, THEY WILL AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF, THE CAR THEN SHIFTS INTO HIGHER GEARS, CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE (WHEN GOING DOWNHILL OR WHILE SLOWING IN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS). THE CAR CAN BE PUT INTO "SPORT MODE", BUT THIS CAUSE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO BECOME VERY TOUCHY, WHICH IS UNSAFE IN SLIPPERY CONDITION. THE P…

This car has bricked itself in my garage twice in as many months. It is a Plug in hybrid and is plugged into power the entire time it breaks. Vehicle: 2023 Volvo V60 T8. Turn signal failure. About once a week the infotainment system goes black and completely dies while driving, causing the audio in the car to stop working. When this occurs the turn signal is silent when activated. The vehicle uses the speakers to produce the blinker "clicking" noise when actuated, but there is no sound when the infotainment system fails. This causes me to be unsure if my blinker is actually working and possibly increases the risk of crashing, as other around me may be unaware I am turning or me…

Interior (center) rear view mirror glass migrates over time to point downward, so you see the backseat rather than out the back window. Have to manually adjust it to point back up approximately every 500 miles. Suspect it happens as you drive over bumps. Have had two dealerships look at it (Gorges in Omaha, NE and Willis in Clive, IA) and both reported no issue found. Obviously, neither of them had a tech drive the car 500 miles. Issue has persisted since purchasing the car in 2017 with 12,800 miles on it.

When using the reverse or 360 views of the camera system on the vehicle at night, the cameras appear to rely on the front camera (or highest-brightness image) for exposure control. Since your headlights are up front and usually are the brightest spot, this results in your backup camera (and blind spot views) being completely black at night. This is a critical safety issue for visibility at nighttime with this vehicle and may result in injury or property damage.

Me and my partners safety was put at risk when the vehicle’s high pressure fuel pump went out, shut the car down, and left us stranded in the middle of two lane traffic. What was scarier was how the vehicle couldn’t be manually overridden to shift into neutral to push the vehicle to safety away from oncoming traffic, since the gear is electronic. The vehicle isn’t that old and that high on mileage, being only at 94k miles. After getting it towed (tow driver had to drag the vehicle up onto the bed because even they couldn’t do anything about it)…

Vehicle: 2023 Volvo V60 T8. Turn signal failure. About once a week the infotainment system goes black and completely dies while driving, causing the audio in the car to stop working. The vehicle uses the speakers to produce the blinker "clicking" noise when actuated, but there is no sound when the infotainment system fails. The engine consumes an excessive amount of oil, requiring the addition of about one quart every few hundred miles. There are no visible external leaks, and the issue appears to be due to internal engine components such as piston rings allowing oil into the combustion chamber. This poses a risk of engine damage and loss of power. The problem has been observed consistently and confirmed by a repair shop. No crash or safety incident has occurred, but the vehicle's reliability and safety are compromised.

THIS WOULD REQUIRE MY PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, IF NOT ALREADY, PRESSING THE BREAK PEDAL AND PUSHING THE START BUTTON. DURING THESE TIMES, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP AS IT SHOULD IF A DRIVER PURPOSELY TURNED THEIR CAR OFF. THE SYMPTOM WOULD HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY. I LEFT MY CAR FOR A WEEK WITH THE LOCAL VOLVO DEALER HOPING THIS SPORADIC PROBLEM WOULD BE SUCCESSFULLY DIAGNOSED. A SERVICE DEPARTME…

This car has an oil consumption problem but Volvo advises it will not repair. Other, similar models have similar oil consumption problems that are the subject of recall. This was also subject of class action lawsuit We have had to spend hundreds out of pocket to repair. Why isn't this model year in the recall? Other years - same engine - before and after this are subject of recall?

The engine consumes an excessive amount of oil, requiring the addition of about one quart every few hundred miles. There are no visible external leaks, and the issue appears to be due to internal engine components such as piston rings allowing oil into the combustion chamber. This poses a risk of engine damage and loss of power. The problem has been observed consistently and confirmed by a repair shop. No crash or safety incident has occurred, but the vehicle's reliability and safety are compromised.

When driving at about 10mph in my kids daycare driveway on a downward slope towards the main road, I depressed the brake pedal to stop and the car did not slow down. A few feet before intersecting the main road, I depressed the brake pedal fully to the floor and the car panic stopped. No braking action happened until the brake pedal was fully depressed to the floor.

I am reporting an ongoing and worsening defect condition involving a Volvo vehicle that has displayed repeated power steering / steering failure warnings and is now also showing additional symptoms consistent with a possible turbo / emissions-related failure. The steering-related warnings have remained active and unresolved over an extended period. The vehicle has displayed dashboard warnings for “Power steering” and “Power steering failure,” and the condition has not been reliably corrected despite prior service involvement and an ongoing rep…
