DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE AIR SUPPLY BRAKE CONTROL RELEASE VALVE EXPELLED THE BRAKE AIR AND DEPLETED THE AIR BRAKE SUPPLY WITHOUT WARNING WHICH RESULTED IN POOR BRAKE FUNCTION AS WELL AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THE MAGNETVENTIL VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE INITIAL REPLACEMENT, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED.

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BROUGHT IN FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BALL JOINT THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE DRAG LINK FELL APART. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE 500 DETROIT DIESEL ENGINE CAUSED ROUGH IDLE AND LOW POWER, AT 103000 MILES DETROIT OVERHAULED THE ENGINE, CYLINDERS AND PISTONS HAD BURNED, WATER PUMP FAILED, AND ENGINE HAD 8-10 VALVE ADJUSTMENTS, AT 130000 MILES THE WARRANTY WAS CANCELLED, VEHICLE WAS TURNED IN AT 130000 MILES. *SLC
