I received notice of a recall from Volvo related to my XC60 hybrid's battery over the summer. I took the car in to Prestige Volvo in East Hanover on July 15 to get it checked. They stated the battery had bad cells and needed repair. They said the car was not safe to drive and the repair could take a month due to a backorder. I got the car back in August and shortly thereafter, there was a "hybrid system failure" warning and the battery would not charge. I took the car back to Prestige on Sept. 23 and they stated the cell they replaced was bad a…
The contact owns a 2021 Volvo XC60 PHEV. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V179000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool showed no open recall; however, the contact had received the recall notification.
The vehicle suffered an incident of Sudden Unintended Acceleration while slowly turning right, into a level parking space. Drivers foot was on the brake, but the car suddenly accelerated and surged forward. The car did not stop, even with strong brake pressure, until it hit the curb and almost hit a pedestrian. We called SOS to have Volvo pick up car to be towed to the dealership. I consider this to be a severe liability and unsafe to drive. The XC 60 accident happened on the second day and was towed to dealership the third day. Research docu…

Information/GPS system randomly goes completely blank/black. This possess a significant safety issue as it happens while driving in heavy city traffic where there is no way to stop and wait for the system to come back online. This has caused missed turns and the need to drive with no way of knowing where we are going. The inability to rely on the GPS system makes the 3 month old, brand new car virtually undrivable as we have nzero confidence in the navigation system.

The side windows in the front and back seats are cloudy. When light hits the windows, visibility is greatly decreased. The company denies this is a defect and refuses to repair the issue. The problem occurs on all XC60 and XC90 models with the Ultra trim package.
Darker cells indicate a larger share of submitted complaints. Components overlap. This measures complaint composition, not failure probability.

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
