24V733000 · Exterior Lighting:Turn Signal

Reported: 2024-10-01 (October 1, 2024) · Model years: 2018, 2019, 2020

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2013-2017 Tour, 2013-2018 Journey, 2014-2022 Forza, 2015-2016 Brave, 2015-2019 Grand Tour, 2015-2021 Vista, 2016-2018 Adventurer, Sightseer, 2016-2021 Commercial Vehicle, 2018-2021 Intent, Sunstar, 2018-2020 Horizon, Itasca 2013-2017 Ellipse, Meridian, 2014-2017 Solei, 2015-2016 Tribute, 2015-2018 Sunstar, 2016-2018 Suncruiser, and Sunova motorhomes. The turn signals may have a smaller than required luminous lens area. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: A small lens can make it difficult for other drivers to see the turn signal, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the turn signals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2026. Owners may contact Winnebago Customer Care at 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 189.

18V659000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

Reported: 2018-09-24 (September 24, 2018) · Model years: 2019

Winnebago Industries, Inc (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2019 Winnebago Horizon vehicles. The affected vehicles have entry doors that have latch rods that may be improperly adjusted, allowing the door to open while moving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."

Consequence: If the door opens while moving, it can increase the risk of injury or a crash.

Remedy: Winnebago has notified owners, and dealers will readjust the door latch rod, free of charge. The recall began on October 26, 2018. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 154.

While driving on the Interstate at 70 mph, there was without any warning sudden bang simultaneous with the vehicle leaching severely to the right and at the same time trying to spin clockwise. As I tried to gain control it felt like the vehicle was going to roll side to side. We were pulling a Jeep Wrangler 4 wheels down behind and it was all I could do to avoid the adjacent traffic. I finally was able to crash the vehicle on the right shoulder of the road. We discovered both passenger rear tires had blown out at the same time. There had b…

We were traveling from Ashland NE to Argyle TX (heading home) on I 35 South in Oklahoma when both of the rear passenger side tires exploded and shredded. At the time, I was passing a semi-truck and I was in the left lane. I could hardly control the RV but got lucky and managed to maneuver it to the shoulder without rolling or causing an accident with other vehicles, and we managed to walk away unscathed (at least physically). We escaped major injuries but of course talk about the trauma we experienced. What if I wasn’t able to get the RV safel…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
