Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

16V161000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

Reported: 2016-03-21 (March 21, 2016) · Model years: 2016

Winnebago Towable (Winnebago) is recalling certain model year 2016 Winnie Drop recreational trailers manufactured from September 10, 2015, through March 8, 2016. The refrigerator compartment may not be completely sealed and thus may allow carbon monoxide to enter the main cabin.

Consequence: If carbon monoxide were to enter the main cabin, it can increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, or possible death.

Remedy: The remedy for this recall is still under development. The recall began on June 21, 2016. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-574-825-5250.

16V719000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2016-10-07 (October 7, 2016) · Model years: 2016, 2017

Winnebago Towable (Winnebago) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Winnebago Winnie Drop, Micro Minnie, Minnie, Minnie Plus, Spyder, Scorpion, Destination, Instinct, and Voyage travel trailers manufactured November 9, 2015, to September 6, 2016. The weight label on the affected vehicles incorrectly states the fresh water capacity in gallons when it should be stated in pounds.

Consequence: The incorrect information may cause the trailer to be overloaded, possibly resulting in a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect weight labels with corrected labels, free of charge. The recall began on January 19, 2017. Owners may contact Winnebago owner relations at 1-574-825-5250 extension 5220.

I PURCHASED A 2016 WINNEBAGO SCORPION 04-28-2016, THE TRAILER HAS LESS THEN 3,000 MILES ON IT. ONE TIRE ALMOST CAME APART (SEPARATED), WE ASKED LIONS HEAD TO REPLACE ALL TIRES AND LIONS HEAD SAID NO. THEY SENT US ONE NEW TIRE. NOW160 MILES LATER ON TRAILER THE TWO TIRES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ARE WEARING FASTER ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE AND ALSO THE SIDEWALLS HAVE SEPARATED ON THE INSIDE OF BOTH TIRES. LIONS HEAD SAID THEY WILL ONLY REPLACE THOSE TWO TIRES. SO WE STILL HAVE TWO LIONS HEAD TIRES MADE THE SAME AS THE OTHER THREE OTHER TIRES THAT…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
