HE IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WOULD ARRIVE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND REMAINS PARKED. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 600.

2006 YAMAHA VIRAGO XV250, 70 MPH ON I96, NO BRAKING, SOLO RIDE, 16000 MILES, 21 MOS OLD, THE LEFT ARM OF THE REAR SWING ARM BUCKLED, CONTINUING TO YIELD UNTIL THE REAR TIRE MADE CONTACT WITH THE RIGHT INNER SWING ARM AND THE REAR BRAKE LINKAGE. THIS CONTACT STABILIZED THE LEFT SIDE SWING ARM YIELDING, HOWEVER THE RUBBING OF THE TIRE CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DECELERATION ABRUPTLY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 YAMAHA 1300 ROYAL STAR (NA). WHILE RIDING 70 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE GROUND WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT ONTO THE TIRES AND THE GROUND. THE CONTACT TOOK THE MOTORCYCLE TO THE YAMAHA DEALER TWICE FOR REPAIR AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS DUE TO RIDER ERROR.
