Recall history
1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
00V076000 · Unknown Or Other
Reported: 2000-03-13 (March 13, 2000) · Model years: 1999, 2000
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE SCREWS HOLDING THE SIDESTAND SWITCH CAN LOOSEN AND FALL OUT DUE TO ENGINE HEAT AND VIBRATION. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE SIDESTAND SWITCH WOULD NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY, SO IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO RIDE THE MOTORCYCLE WITH THE SIDESTAND IN THE DOWN POSITION.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION WOULD INCREASE THE RISK THAT THE SIDESTAND COULD HIT THE GROUND DURING A TURN, WHICH COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SCREWS HOLDING THE SIDESTAND SWITCH.

| Power Train:Manual Transmission | 1100.0%ODI 10062478MOTORCYCLE HAS DEVELOPED A SLIP IN 1ST AND IN 2ND GEAR. I WENT TO YAMAHA AT ABOUT 7500 MILES AND COMPLAINED. THEY TRIED TO SAY I WAS TOO ROUGH ON THE BIKE. BOTH GEARS ABOUT 8500 RPM JUMPS TO 8750 RPM AND CATCHES AGAIN AND THEN AT ABOUT 9500 IT SLIPS TO 9750-10000 RPM. INITIALLY, I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH TENSION ON THE CLUTCH SO I ADJUSTED THE CABLE. FINALLY, I CONVINCED ANOTHER BUSINESS WITH A REAR-WHEEL DYNO TO LOAD IT UP AND CLEARLY SAW THE INSTANT JUMPS I HAD BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT. YAMAHA STILL DENIES ANY PROBLEMS. … | 00.0%No examples available for this selection. |
Darker cells indicate a larger share of submitted complaints. Components overlap. This measures complaint composition, not failure probability.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
1999: 0 complaints · 2000: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1999 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2000 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1999 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 2000 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
Components reported together
Each cell counts unique complaints naming both components. Open a nonzero cell for examples.

Co-reporting does not establish that one component caused another concern.
