WHILE PULLING A TRAILER AND DRIVING AT 55 MPH UP A HILL CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT HE HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THE TRAILER. CONSUMER EXAMINED THE FLAT TIRE, AND SAW NO DAMAGE, BUT DID NOTICE THAT THE HUB OF THE WHEEL WAS BURNT. CONSUMER FELT THE BURNT SPOT AND IT WAS HOT TO TOUCH. DEALER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE,E AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKES HAD BURNED UP. *AK *NM

The trailer was towed to the dealer, where it was inspected by a welder. The welder removed the skirts and determined that the main frame support beam had a linear defect in the rectangular tubing and complete separation in parts of the subframe. The trailer was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and had the trailer was towed to the deal…
