Booked the appointment with BMW of Portland for November, 10,2025 For 9 o'clock AM. Arrived at dealership, checked in and left vehicle. I was called about 45 minutes later and informed that they would not be able to preform the recall repair on my car due to parts that were needed and associated with the recall , asked me to pay for it which I refused since it is part of the recall repair. I have never come across a vehicle recall where parts were not covered with the recall. I find this very strange, please investigate.

This vehicle has been re[aired for cooling system problems multiple time by BMW dealer. Now that the vehicle is approximately 90 days outside of warranty a cooling system leak has arisen with the engine oil cooling interface. On-line there is mention of this issue with the B46 Engine which is in this vehicle developing coolant leaks. The repairs are very expensive for this apparently well know issue.

Q) What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? A) Refrigerant gas(R-1234yf) leak in the evaporator core. If the inspection request is made after the repair, no. It is suspected that there is a inherent defect in the evaporator core. Possibly related to interaction between the R-1234yf refrigerant and the material of the evaporator core. Q) How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
