There was no initial warning this would occur or ability to safely pull over before it occured. The event occured in the middle of the roadwa…

On June 29th, 2023 at approximately 8:45 AM we were pulling into a parking space slowly tapping the brakes to slow and stop the vehicle. About 2/3 of the way into the parking stall around 3 or 4 feet from the curb, the vehicle actually accelerated while pressing the brake jumping the curb. We pressed on the brakes again and the car accelerated even faster crossing the sidewalk crashing into a building. Collision warning failed. Automatic emergency braking failed. Unknown if brakes were delayed or had issue stopping. I rear ended the car the in front of me, going from a stop while attempting to make a right hand turn. There were no system warnings or emergency braking applied although the car is equipped with those and many more safety features. During the accident the air bags were not deployed. So the impact was not severe but caused a combined $10,000 plus in cosmetic damage to both vehicles.

Our vehicle's check engine light came on, and we took it to the dealership as it is still under factory warranty.
