I purchased a brand new Colorado earlier this year. The vehicle currently has about 9,000 miles on the odometer. On two recent occasions within 1 1/2 weeks of each other while driving at highway speeds, there was a clunk noise and the transmission acted as if it had been shifted into neutral. The truck would not accelerate, and the RPMs were very high as I was pushing the accelerator and the vehicle was not responding but the engine was revving. This was an extremely scary and unsafe situation as cars were behind me and I narrowly avoided b…

I own a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado Lt Extended Cab 2WD. The rear differential has failed prematurely at 70000 miles. the failure caused loud whining/grinding noises, vibration, and unsafe driving conditions. After researching online, i found many other 2021 Colorado owners reporting the same issue with rear differential failure, often at relatively low mileage. This indicates a widespread defect in the differential assembly. There are existing GM Technical Service Bulletins (20-NA-034, 20-NA-156) related to axle/differential noise and machining de…

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving my 2021 Chevrolet vehicle. While driving, multiple warnings appeared including “Service Power Steering,” “Steering Assist is Reduced,” “Service ESC,” and “Service Battery Charging System.” The vehicle then lost steering assist, braking performance became unreliable, and it created a serious risk of crash. The vehicle later shut down completely and has remained inoperable. The failure appears electrical and affected multiple critical systems at once, suggesting a cascading system malfunction. Sin…

If you review the Chevrolet Colorado for the last number of years, one will find that there is an issue with the key not removing when turning the vehicle off. I am experiencing this problem with a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado. In some of the previous years the issue was referenced to a issue where the shifter needed repaired or replaced. My point is that it has been an ongoing problems for years which the NHTSA should demand that GM fix it without cost to the consumer. When I stop and try to turn key off it does not turn to off. Have to turn back on and try shifting neutral and back to park. After completing a right turn with a right turn signal, the vehicle will sometimes signal a left turn for 3 blinks. I believe this is because the turn signal stalk 'bounces' down to the left turn signal area when returning back to normal position from a right turn. This is a safety issue because the vehicle is signaling a left turn when no turn is intended. This could cause confusion to other drivers on the road.

Front passenger headlight assembly is defective with less than 200 miles on vehicle. Sin…

Complete engine failure due to defective crankshaft malfunction, truck taken to certified repair shop and then dealer, deal not responding for 24 days. Engine failed traveling on the highway was fortunately able to pull over, stranded. Engine light came on and the engine failed completely 5-10 min after on a 2 hour return trip home. Certified repair shop informed me this is the exact same reason of the recall just that my vehicle wasn’t currently under the recall. Vehicle component has been recalled on other Chevrolet vehicles manufactured d…

When I stop and try to turn key off it does not turn to off. Have to turn back on and try shifting neutral and back to park. Then try straightened wheel and eventually key will go to off position and take out key. Started few days ago intermittently and now more often. Mileage is 36317 so warranty if expired. I will not pay dealer for analysis since it should be covered under engine. Also have seen 100s of complaints with this online for 2016 thru 2019.

The key does not release when in park! I have to adjust the steering wheel and gear shift multiple times to get it to release. This has been going on for a while and the truck only has 27,000 miles. I've called multiple chevy dealers (including the one I bought it from) they all want a 250 diagnostic fee! This should be under warranty. This problem is dangerous. I have seen I am not the only one having this issue. This issue needs to be investigated and recalled!

We bought this truck from a dealer (used) and before delivery the driver seat belt recall was repaired as it was still open. Now, months later, the airbag light is on with a warning and it appears that the airbags are disabled. This started as an intermittent issue and now remains constant. Not only does the warning chime when the truck is started, it will chime at random while driving which is a distraction and a significant safety concern for our young adult driver. Our local Chevy dealer will not assess the issue for less than $300. Our mech…

Steering becomes extremely stiff after 20 min at highway speeds. The problem only happens during highway speeds. Steering will "stick" and when wanting to change lanes or avoid a rough spot or hazard. You have to jerk the steering wheel to break it loose. Often, the effort required causes overcorrection, and you need to re-correct the wheel back suddenly. Even passengers notice the over steering required to change lanes. It doesn't feel very safe and my warranty ran out on time 2/11/24, not mileage. Researching the issue it appears there are ma…

The power steering went out while driving. How can this not be a safety issue? What if someone was executing a turn when this happened? A warning lamp did briefly appear, however, steering never restored. GM obviously knows about this as there is a TSB for this very issue. Why are they not being made to correct this instead of charging the Customer $600+? Seems like just a matter of time till there's a serious incident if there hasn't already been one.
