Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

AFTER CATCHING OUR BREATH, IT RESTARTED ON THE SECOND TRY. THE NEXT TIME IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN I WAS DRIVING AND WE WERE IN TRAFFIC TRAVELING ABOUT 65 MPH, I QUICKLY PLACED THE SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED THE KEY AND LUCKILY IT RESTARTED. THE NEXT TIME THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUT DOWN WE WERE ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND AND THEN NEARLY SIDESWIPED WHILE TRYING TO ESCAPE THE TRAFFIC, AND WE WAITED …

I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY ON 10/29/2011 AND SUDDENLY THE VAN STARTED TO LOSS POWER WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR SYMPTOMS. I PRESSED ON THE GAS EVEN MORE AND THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV HIGH BUT THE VAN CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN RAPIDLY. "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT WENT ON AS WE WERE PULLING OVER THE RIGHT SHOULDER. I STOPPED THE CAR AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. FORTUNATELY, WE WERE ON THE RIGHT LANE. HAD WE HAVE BEEN ON THE LEFT LANE, THIS POTENTIALLY COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL DISASTER. THE "CHECK ENGINE" CAME BACK WITH A P0720 CODE AND APPARENTLY, AFTER…
